About this Role

We are seeking a hands-on AI & Cyber Security Automation Engineer to contribute to VOIS New Technologies and Innovation initiatives focused on advancing cyber security through AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in Python development, cloud technologies, APIs, and containerised environments who are passionate about applying AI to real-world cyber security challenges. The successful candidate will help design, build, and validate innovative solutions for automation, detection, and decision support while ensuring secure-by-design principles, Responsible AI practices, and reusable engineering standards are embedded throughout the development lifecycle.

What you’ll do

Design and develop Python-based applications and services that support AI-enabled cyber security use cases.Build, consume, and maintain REST APIs to integrate AI capabilities into cyber security workflows and enterprise platforms.Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions using Azure, AWS, or GCP, with GCP experience considered a strong advantage.Implement, manage, and optimise solutions in containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.Contribute to innovation initiatives by prototyping, testing, and validating AI-powered approaches for cyber security automation and threat detection.Apply Responsible AI principles, safety controls, and risk mitigation measures to ensure secure and compliant AI solutions.Support the creation of reusable engineering assets, including patterns, frameworks, reference architectures, and technical components.Collaborate with cyber security specialists, software engineers, architects, and innovation teams to transform ideas into scalable technical solutions.Produce and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge to support wider adoption across teams.Contribute to secure system design practices and cloud security initiatives.

Who you are

  • Experience using Python to build automation solutions, software applications, or AI-enabled services.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs within enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in containerised environments.
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles, scalability, and system architecture design.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies, Generative AI, or Large Language Model (LLM) applications is advantageous.
  • Awareness of Responsible AI principles, AI governance, safety controls, and risk management practices.
  • Foundational understanding of cyber security concepts and secure-by-design methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in innovation-focused environments with evolving priorities and experimentation.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery automation.
  • Experience contributing to innovation, research, proof-of-concept, or prototyping initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and secure architecture principles.
