Job Description

Role Purpose

As the Head of Stores Development at VIRGIN MEDIA LIMITED, you will play a pivotal role in building customer trust and improving our retail experience. Your creative thinking and collaboration will drive the evolution of our stores, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers, store teams, and business! Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Take full responsibility for developing and delivering our store estate strategy. Guide your team to implement the plan effectively in the retail channel. Work closely with senior collaborators to meet their requirements.
  • Develop and lead the estate strategy: Identify the right stores in the right locations while running the ongoing estate. Apply a data-driven approach to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Develop and lead the store design: Ensure it fulfills all operational needs, anticipates future trends and efficiencies, and delivers an excellent in-store experience for customers.
  • Develop and run the store construction: Coordinate the construction delivery, including budget, program, quality, and safety, working with your team and external partners.
  • Plan and direct store implementation: Ensure the successful delivery of several programs annually. Work closely with interested parties on timing and help store teams during openings, refits, relocations, or closures.
  • Internal Partners: Establish, coordinate, and evaluate the scope of service for internal divisions such as IT, Property, Finance, Procurement, OH&S, and Loss Prevention.
  • Business Case & Benefits Realisation: Build a clear, data-led dashboard of metrics to monitor the success of the plan at both overall and store levels.
  • Delivery Workstreams and Governance: Identify, direct, and track all delivery workstreams, implementing a governance structure to support and formalize delivery at every level.

The must haves

Essential Skills, Knowledge, or Experience

  • Experience of Retail:Significant experienceworking within a retail channel in store development at a senior level is critical. You must be able to build the plan and work closely with your team and key partners to achieve success.
  • Professional or technicalqualification: Preferred qualifications include Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Architecture/Build, or Estate Strategy.
  • Influencing: Well-developed influencing skills to navigate challenges, respond to senior collaborators, and keep the plan on track.
  • Storytelling: Ability to clearly convey the narrative behind the retail channel transformation, highlight achievements, and describe the plan's progress.
  • Collaborator Management: Experience leading multiple collaborators is crucial.
  • Analytical approach: Ability to interpretlarge amountsof data quickly and understand the overall picture.
