Job Description

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a role where you'll be genuinely valued, supported, and enjoy coming to work every day? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
At Newport Vets for Pets, we're looking for an enthusiastic RVN to join our friendly and close-knit team. While clinical skills are important, we're equally passionate about finding someone who shares our positive outlook, team spirit, and sense of humour.

We're proud of the culture we've built and are looking for a colleague who enjoys working hard, supporting others, and having a laugh along the way.
Our modern, centrally located practice has been caring for pets in the local community since 2008, building a fantastic reputation and loyal client base. Equipped with all the tools and facilities you'd expect from a thriving first-opinion practice, you'll have everything you need to deliver exceptional patient care.

Just as importantly, we believe in a healthy work-life balance. You'll work 40 hours across four days, with no weekends, no out-of-hours, and no on-call commitments, giving you plenty of time to enjoy life outside of work. Could also accommodate part time hours too.

We're looking for a proactive nurse with strong all-round skills who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care. An interest in nurse consultations would be particularly welcomed, but above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team and wants to make a real difference every day.

You'll be joining a supportive and experienced team of:

  • 5 Veterinary Surgeons
  • 3 RVNs
  • 1 VCA
  • 6 Receptionists

Together, we're committed to providing the highest standards of care for both our patients and their owners.

What's in it for you?

  • Salary of £24,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • 5.6 weeks holiday FTE
  • Life Assurance, 4 x Annual Salary
  • Contributory Pension Scheme
  • Paid memberships including RCVS, BVA and VDS
  • Generous CPD allowance
  • No weekends
  • No OOH
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group

If you're looking for more than just a job and want to join a team where you'll feel supported, appreciated, and enjoy every day at work, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and discover why Newport Vets for Pets could be the perfect next step in your nursing career.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
