Job Description

Are you a natural leader with a passion for motivating and empowering others in a fast-paced, dynamic veterinary environment? Ashton Vets for Pets is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Practice Manager to join our friendly and forward-thinking team.

We welcome applications from candidates with previous management experience who are comfortable leading a team. If you’re a confident problem-solver, love planning and delivering bespoke projects, and enjoy supporting the HR needs of a diverse and inclusive team, this could be the perfect role for you. Previous experience in the veterinary industry is essential to support our growing team.

As Practice Manager, you will play a key role in helping our surgery operate smoothly day-to-day. You’ll support our Practice Owners in delivering business objectives, ensuring our team is motivated, our operations run efficiently, and our clients receive the outstanding care we strive for. Some occasional shifts supporting the receptionist team will be required.

This is a full-time position (25 to 40 hours per week), Monday to Friday. We’re happy to offer flexibility so if you have any specific requirements, please do get in touch.

What will you do?

  • Oversee practice compliance, including Health & Safety, maintenance logging, and follow-ups
  • Support practice owners in driving performance, including leading 1:1s with our Client Care Advisors
  • Lead and develop the practice’s social media strategy across all platforms
  • Manage client feedback via complaints handling, Medallia analysis, and responding to Google Reviews
  • Implement and manage HR policies for our valued colleagues
  • Tackle challenges quickly to maintain the excellent service we pride ourselves on
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members
  • Manage your own diary to effectively balance responsibilities

About You
You’ll bring proven team-management experience and be ready to grow in a new leadership position. Previous experience in the veterinary industry is essential. You’ll have excellent communication skills, strong organisation and time-management abilities, and a passion for building meaningful relationships with both clients and colleagues. Most importantly, you’ll be committed to developing and coaching others.

What we offer:
In return we can offer 20% discount at Pets at Home, Vets4Pets and the Groom Room, with additional access to discounts and cashback, in-house career development opportunities, pension and holiday allowance. We offer an excellent salary of £32,000 FTE and dependant on experience.

We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we’d love to hear from you.

Location: OL7 0DN

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
