Packaging Artwork Lead
Reports to: Packaging Manager
Grade F, Permanent role
The opportunity:
Under the leadership of the Packaging Manager, you will ensure the on-time and effective delivery of packaging artwork for which you are responsible during range reviews. You will achieve this through taking responsibility for the artwork from concept to launch, and ensuring that you align with the CPA process to deliver on time and in full.
You will be tasked with ensuring that artwork is transposed accurately from pack copy and takes account of the business strategy in terms of innovation, quality and sustainability and delivery of this is through close working relations with both the internal NPD and product and packaging technologists, but also through in-depth knowledge of supplier processes – both design agency and also printers.
Your knowledge of the competitor set, in categories for which you are responsible, should be up to date, comprehensive and detailed – and you should be able to defend Pets at Home propositions through effective and regular benchmarking results.
What you'll do:

Coordinate the production, approval and release of packaging artworks.

Provide comprehensive artwork briefs to agencies and ensure that these are delivered in line with business requirements around accuracy and efficiency.

Ensure the material type and finish are consistent across the ranges for which you are responsible.

Ensure your individual KPI compliance results are in line with monthly targets.

Work within our supply base to gain knowledge and understanding of the print process, and support the Packaging Manager to define key suppliers and protocols required to ensure best-in-class process for our business.

Expand your knowledge of innovative processes within material and print finish and styles, such that you can inform and share within the team to drive implementation within Pets at Home.

Ensure that you work to deliver minimal complaints and packaging-related issues in NPD and that this is demonstrated within the post-launch review autopsy.

Work with the cross-functional teams to support communicating progress against legislative commitments, for both internal and external reporting purposes.

Work with industry experts and academia to identify research and development opportunities.
What you'll need:

2+ years of experience working within a packaging development/artwork role
-
Ideally, a Degree or equivalent qualifications in packaging or a technology-related field

Experience in managing packaging projects across supply chains

Knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing from raw materials, into process, packaging, and print delivery

Experience with spreadsheet trackers and project management tools.
