What you’ll be doing...
We're looking for a passionate and driven AI Security Operations Analyst to join our growing team focused on securing AI systems across Verizon. The selected candidate will work at the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, performing both offensive security testing (red team) and defensive monitoring (blue team) functions for AI-powered applications, tools and infrastructure. This dual role includes conducting manual and automated security evaluations to identify vulnerabilities in AI systems, developing specialized tooling to simulate attacks across multiple modalities, while simultaneously building robust strategies to detect, monitor and respond to potential threats targeting Verizon's AI ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to not only design and execute these security evaluations and protective measures but also to comprehensively document and present their findings, engaging with business stakeholders to explain technical risks and provide actionable recommendations for effective risk mitigation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Building tooling and operate processes to effectively test AI solutions for vulnerabilities as well as detect attacks on AI systems.
Collaborating with engineers, the red team, the SOC, insider threat program, and others to identify potential AI centric attack vectors.
Participating in threat hunting and purple team exercises designed to validate monitoring and response processes for AI.
Supporting threat modeling and risk assessments for AI deployments and third party integrations.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of AI threat intelligence, logging and monitoring strategies.
Staying current on emerging AI threats, adversarial techniques and evolving security best practices.
Serving as a trusted advisor to the business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise to partner on AI security concerns.

What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelors degree and four or more years of work experience
Four or more years of experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC, incident response, adversarial emulation of similar fields.
Strong technical knowledge of AI / ML technologies.
Experience with scripting and database technologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of AI related risks and mitigation strategies in particular for Generative AI solutions.
Ability to identify business process risk introduced by GenAI capabilities by leveraging pre-existing knowledge of critical business applications (e.g., MyVerizon, ACSS, etc.)
Comprehensive understanding of cyber based frameworks including NIST AI Risk Management Framework, MITRE ATLAS, and OWASP Top 10 LLM.
Knowledge of large enterprise environments, cloud infrastructure and services, network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.), and secure architectures.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills.
Highly collaborative with ability to articulate ideas and influence peers and senior leaders.
Experience working on cross-functional teams including engineering, products teams, legal and security.
