Job Description

Join TUI Hotels & Resorts as Cluster Director of Engineering with the role to oversee the Maintenance departments of Tui Blue Zanzibar and The Nora Zanzibar properties and provide strategic and operational leadership for all engineering, facilities, asset and project management functions. This role ensures flawless operation of the physical environment, preservation of high-value assets, and the delivery of guest experience through proactive maintenance, refined aesthetics, sustainability leadership, and uncompromising safety and compliance standards.

This role is located in Zanzibar, Tanzania to support our two TUI Hotel 5* properties. Applications will close on or before 13th March.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Ensure all properties consistently meet or exceed brand standards.
  • Oversee presentation quality in guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
  • Establish luxury-specific engineering standards, SOPs, and service protocols.
  • Drive a culture of discretion, professionalism, and anticipatory service.
  • Act as the senior engineering advisor to ownership and executive leadership.
  • Optimize energy and water consumption.
  • Oversee service contracts, vendor performance, and procurement strategies.
  • Track and report KPIs related to asset conditions, energy efficiency, and cost control.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and life-safety requirements.
  • Lead safety culture, inspections, audits, and incident prevention programs.
  • Support VIP and high-profile guest requirements discreetly.
  • Resolve engineering-related guest issues with urgency and service recovery.
  • Collaboration with cross-cluster colleagues at director level.
  • Collaboration with project management and technical services at Tui Hotels and Resorts.
  • Further development in the collegial environment of global technical services standards and joint introduction of technical innovations.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 12–15+ years of progressive engineering experience in hospitality.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a senior multi-property or cluster leadership role.
  • Extensive experience managing renovations and capital projects.
  • Executive-level leadership and coaching ability.
  • Deep understanding of luxury guest expectations and service standards.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and asset-management expertise.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
