Job Description

At Booker, technology plays a vital role in helping our branches serve customers efficiently every day. We're looking for a Technology Analyst to join our Branch Systems team, supporting the applications that power our branch operations, including tills, self-scan solutions, picking devices and payment systems.

As part of a collaborative team, you'll help ensure our systems are reliable, effective and fit for purpose by carrying out testing, identifying issues and working closely with colleagues across Technology and Operations. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that support the growth of the business while developing your own skills and experience in a supportive environment.

We welcome people from a range of backgrounds and experiences. If you're curious, detail-oriented and enjoy solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Create, execute and maintain test cases to validate system functionality and quality.
  • Review requirements and system specifications to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Identify, document and track software defects, working closely with development teams to support resolution.
  • Support the delivery of system enhancements, improvements and technology projects across Branch Systems.
  • Investigate issues impacting system performance, availability and functionality, helping to identify effective solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers to continuously improve our systems and processes.
  • Produce accurate documentation and management information to support decision making.
  • Provide guidance and support to users when required.
  • Participate in out-of-hours support on a rotational basis to help maintain business-critical services.
  • Champion an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to contribute.
  • Experience in software testing, technology support or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to analyse information and make informed decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
  • A proactive, positive approach and a willingness to learn.

It would be great if you also have

  • Knowledge of branch or retail systems, including tills, self-scan, picking devices or payment solutions.
  • Experience of working within wholesale, retail or customer-focused environments.
  • An understanding of change management or system support processes.
