Job Description
Booker.co.uk is the fastest‑growing B2B wholesale website in the UK and accounts for around 30% of the Booker Group’s sales. Our IS Web team is responsible for the infrastructure and applications behind all Booker Group websites and apps — from our B2B commerce platform to our consumer‑facing content sites. Working closely with the Booker Digital team, you’ll help ensure our online experiences are seamless, stable and customer‑focused.
We’re now looking for an experienced Test Lead to join the team. In this role, you’ll lead quality‑assurance activity across web and mobile applications, coordinate testing efforts, support the definition of acceptance criteria, and drive improvements across our QA processes. You’ll take a hands‑on approach to automation, governance and reporting, and play a key part in delivering high‑quality software in an Agile environment.
- Lead QA activities across multiple projects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Estimate and plan testing for both manual and automated work.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Perfecto.
- Work with Business Analysts to define clear acceptance criteria.
- Manage test coverage, execution, reporting, and defect tracking.
- Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor junior team members and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to performance testing and post‑implementation reviews.
- Follow governance, change‑management, and security standards.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and a positive team culture.
- Strong experience leading QA in Agile environments.
- Hands‑on automation skills with Selenium, Cucumber, Maven, and Perfecto/Appium.
- Proficiency in Java for automation scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD, Jira, API testing, and test‑coverage strategy.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making ability.
- A proactive, organised, and self‑motivated approach.
