PPMO Lead - Data, Reporting, QA &amp; Tooling

Job Description

This role sits within Tesco’s PPMO (Project Portfolio Management Office), which operates across Finance Change & Enabling Functions Technology. The role will report directly to the Tactical Delivery Lead and will be responsible for driving high quality data, reporting, and tooling capabilities across the PPMO, and the wider delivery community, ensuring that stakeholders have access to accurate, timely and insightful information. The role includes oversight of the development and optimisation of core tooling platforms such as Planview and SharePoint, strengthens data governance through robust quality assurance practices, and leads the end-to-end management of reporting frameworks and dashboard development and maintenance that support effective financial and resource management. Additionally, this role will have line management responsibilities for the team of Permanent resources and Contractors within the Data, Reporting, Quality Assurance and Tooling Hub.

Data & Reporting

  • Development and management of the PPMO data collection framework for finance and resource management.
  • Provision and maintenance of interactive, real-time data visualisation that meet the needs of the PPMO hubs and wider delivery stakeholders.
  • Ownership and execution of data reporting processes ensuring consistent and timely data remains available across the suite of reports and dashboards.
  • Validating key data pipelines and ensuring the reliability of current data in terms of accuracy, and completeness, and that it remains free from anomalies.
  • Development of and execution against a backlog of future fit reports and dashboards that meet new requirements raised by relevant stakeholders.
  • Recommend and support in the delivery of appropriate data lakes and/or improved data processing architecture that enhances the PPMO team’s ability to process and report against large data sets.

Tooling & Automation (including Planview)

  • Stabilisation and development of Planview, including the provision of management information to track, measure and guide its maturity.
  • Manage the 3rd party relationship with Planview and ensure appropriate contracts and commercial agreements are in place.
  • Maintain an up-to-date delivery roadmap, including small, medium and large-scale initiatives that will drive functionality and improvements across Planview.
  • Map, structure and communicate the tooling stack across Enabling Function and Finance Change portfolios, ensuring the available tool stack meets the requirements of the business.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and management of the PPMO SharePoint site ensure all hubs have appropriate content kept up to date and present on the site.
  • Identify and execute against an AI and automation roadmap to support the continued development and streamlining of core PPMO processes.
  • Establish and maintain a PPMO focused support request processes allowing PPMO team members to raise tooling, automation, or AI requirements for the DRQAT team to carry out

Quality Assurance

  • Development and evolution of the PPMO Quality Assurance framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose as the PPMO service offerings and data sets evolve
  • Detailed analysis and base line of key Quality Assurance metrics across all key hubs within the PPMO, sharing and presenting findings to key stakeholders
  • Establish and lead metric improvement campaigns based on latest Quality Assurance report findings and track progress against improvements
  • Work closely with hub leads within the PPMO to capture new processes, data points and assessment areas as teams evolve
  • Develop and issue quarterly Quality Assurance reports to leadership and the delivery community showcasing the improvements made overtime against key metrics
  • Identify opportunities for automation across the Quality Assurance landscape to future proof and streamline required activities.
  • Experience of data visualisation tooling e.g. Tableau and competence around data connection and calculations, manipulation and dashboarding.
  • Knowledge of Tesco corporate language and communication, culture, context and current priorities.
  • Certifications/Qualifications in AI strategy and data analytics, coupled with working experience in a portfolio context would be an advantage.
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and uncertainty, to juggling changing priorities and manage workload efficiently.
  • Proven coaching, people management and leadership skills.
  • Programme and Portfolio management office experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage people and provide oversight of contractors.
  • Competent in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
