We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our Insurance Money and Services team.
This is a pivotal role at a critical point in our journey, offering real influence over how our technology, platforms and ways of working evolve. You’ll be at the heart of high impact initiatives, working closely with senior leaders to turn strategy into delivery and shaping decisions that have long term organisational impact. The role provides broad exposure across complex programmes, modern systems and enterprise scale change, combining strategic thinking with hands on involvement where it matters most.
It’s a great time to join as we invest in our future. You’ll collaborate across IMS and the wider Tesco Group to help deliver services that are truly customer centric. The role offers strong development and progression opportunities through stretch assignments, leadership exposure and continuous learning across systems, architecture and delivery—making it an excellent platform for long term career growth.
What you’ll be doing • Define and govern enterprise wide architecture strategies, target states and roadmaps, ensuring they are driven by user needs, customer journeys and service outcomes, as well as business objectives and regulatory requirements. • Partner with senior business, product, design and technology leaders to shape investment decisions, transition plans and major programmes of work, grounding strategic choices in evidence based user insight and service design thinking. • Provide architectural leadership across domains (business, data, application, integration and infrastructure), designing coherent end to end services that prioritise usability, accessibility, reuse and long term sustainability. • Assure solution designs and delivery outcomes, balancing user experience and journey coherence with agility, security, resilience, operational soundness and risk controls. • Influence Agile and product led delivery teams to embed architectural and human centred design principles, enabling rapid, user focused delivery while supporting pragmatic, enterprise level decision making. • Lead continuous improvement of architecture standards, patterns and ways of working, incorporating UCD and service design practices, mentoring architects and strengthening overall architecture maturity.
We need you to have • Proven experience defining and gaining approval for strategies, roadmaps and target states that are explicitly shaped by user needs, customer journeys and service outcomes, not just systems or platforms. • Strong track record partnering with business, product, design and technology leaders to translate user insights and service design into pragmatic enterprise level decisions and investments. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels to drive forward your change vision. • Ability to lead on aspects of architecture governance maintaining enterprise integrity, resilience and risk controls.
And if you have any of these, even better • Background working in regulated or customer critical environments, with an understanding of how user outcomes, accessibility and consumer protection shape architecture choices. • Experience operating within product and platform led operating models, partnering closely with Product, UX and Delivery teams to scale user focused services sustainably. We don’t expect you to tick every box, and if you feel you hit most of the brief, it’s worth exploring to further develop your career here with us.
What’s in it for you • Prepare for your retirement with our colleague pension scheme. • Private Medical Insurance (WL2+) and virtual GP Service you and your family 365 days a year. • Critical Illness Insurance. • Performance related annual bonus. • Indulge in a generous holiday allowance with a minimum of 7.2 weeks, with the opportunity to buy more. • Embrace the benefits of our Colleague Clubcard, enjoy a 10% discount that increase to 15% every payday. As an added perk, we’ll give you a second card to share with someone else. • Benefit from our family-oriented initiatives, encompassing enhanced maternity leave pay, a shared parental leave policy, and a generous 8-week paid paternity leave. • A place to get on - take advantage of our ongoing learning opportunities and award-winning training, to help you achieve the job and career you want. • Take part in our Buy as you Earn and Save as your Earn share schemes.
Everyone’s welcome We want all our colleagues to always feel welcome and be themselves. We’re committed to building a more inclusive workplace and celebrating everything that makes colleagues unique, and value the richness and diversity this brings to our business. A more diverse business helps us deliver on our purpose to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.
Interviews We know the importance of balancing work with life’s other commitments. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need, as we’re committed to exploring part time and flexible working opportunities, at every level of the organisation.
Interviews are expected to be held from 5th May 2026.
