Business Analyst

We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our Booker Technology team, working across Retail and Logistics.

This is a great opportunity to get close to the heart of the Booker business, working with colleagues across Technology and our wider business to understand challenges, identify opportunities and help turn ideas into practical technology solutions.

You’ll work with a broad range of stakeholders to understand how things work today, what could work better and what’s needed to make that happen. From shaping requirements and improving processes to supporting testing and implementation, you’ll play an important part in making sure changes deliver real value for our customers and colleagues.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team where you’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships across Booker, broaden your knowledge of the business and make a visible difference to the way we work

• Working with colleagues across the business to understand their needs, challenges and opportunities.
• Analysing existing business processes and identifying ways we can make them simpler, more effective and more efficient.
• Gathering, defining and documenting clear business requirements.
• Translating business needs into requirements, user stories and specifications that our technology teams can work with.
• Bringing people together through workshops and discussions to explore requirements, validate potential solutions and build alignment.
• Creating process maps and other analysis that helps teams understand the impact of proposed changes.
• Working closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering teams and other Technology colleagues throughout delivery.
• Supporting testing, including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Identifying and helping to manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Supporting the successful introduction of new technology, systems and processes into the business.
• Looking for opportunities to continuously improve our systems, processes and ways of working.

• Experience working as a Business Analyst, with exposure to business and technology change.
• Experience of gathering, documenting and managing business requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to turn complex information into something clear and practical.
• Experience of process analysis, process mapping and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to facilitate conversations and influence others.
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Experience supporting testing, implementation and business change.
• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Jira.
• A Business Analysis qualification, such as BCS or equivalent, would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
