Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What You'll Bring

Required experience and skills

  • Good professional UX/UI or interaction design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating your user-centered design process and outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with interaction design, prototyping, and design systems
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, including information architecture, interaction patterns, and accessibility fundamentals (WCAG basics)
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional team environments, ideally with exposure to agile/Scrum methodology
  • Ability to conduct basic user research—including interviews, surveys, and usability tests—and translate findings into design decisions
  • AI-Assisted Prototyping: leverage AI tools to rapidly build low- and high-fidelity prototypes, accelerating iteration and feedback cycles
  • Responsible AI (RAI) Design: create safe, trustworthy AI experiences by anticipating harms, embedding guardrails, and making AI reasoning transparent
  • AI Output Quality Assurance: evaluate AI-generated content for correctness, bias, and safety to ensure designs meet quality and ethical standards

Mindset and approach

  • Strong user empathy and curiosity—you genuinely care about understanding and advocating for user needs
  • Adaptability and comfort with iteration—you thrive in agile environments and embrace feedback as an opportunity to improve
  • Clear communication skills—you can articulate design rationale to developers, product owners, and stakeholders, and participate constructively in design critiques
  • Learning agility—you proactively seek to develop your skills and stay current with UX best practices
  • Ownership and accountability—you take responsibility for design quality and meeting sprint commitments

Nice to have

  • AI Journey Mapping: experience designing end-to-end experiences where humans and AI interact, determining what to automate vs. augment
  • Context Engineering: ability to craft and optimize prompts to generate accurate, relevant AI outputs aligned with design workflows and user needs
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field
  • Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS and how designs translate to code
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approaches

What You'll Build

In this role, you'll create intuitive, user-centered design solutions that directly impact how users experience our products across web, mobile, and cloud-based platforms.

You'll be responsible for delivering:

  • User flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that solve real user problems and align with business goals
  • Design work for features and user stories within your Scrum team's sprint commitments
  • UI components and documentation that strengthen our design system and ensure consistency across products

Your work will directly impact:

  • Product usability and accessibility, making our applications more intuitive and inclusive for users globally
  • Feature development within your Scrum team, translating user needs into actionable design solutions
  • The evolution of our design systems and patterns, contributing to scalable, cohesive user experiences

You'll also:

  • Conduct usability testing and lightweight user research, translating insights into design improvements
  • Design AI-assisted experiences, including conversational flows and guided interactions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to validate feasibility and deliver high-quality outcomes

Where You Belong

You'll thrive as an embedded member of a cross-functional Scrum team, working alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and Scrum Masters.
In this role, you'll:

  • Take ownership of design deliverables with moderate supervision, meeting quality standards with minimal rework
  • Apply and learn design system standards while contributing to their evolution
  • Participate in core agile rituals including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and design critiques
  • Gain exposure to enterprise software, AI-assisted interfaces, and accessibility-first design

Our team culture:

  • Collaborative and supportive, with constructive feedback that helps everyone grow
  • Mentorship-driven, with guidance from senior designers invested in your development
  • User-centered and data-informed, grounded in research and testing rather than assumptions
  • Open and communicative, with proactive sharing of progress, blockers, and ideas across functions

Growth opportunities:

  • Develop skills across the full UX spectrum—research, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping
  • Contribute to design system evolution and participate in the broader design community
  • Access modern design tools and investment in your professional development
  • Work on meaningful products that impact users globally
