ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is a business unit within the Product Engineering Board Area.
ECS supports customers throughout their cloud transformation and SAP S/4HANA adoption journey.
We run the Intelligent Enterprise, so customers can be an Intelligent Enterprise.

Our SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and SAP Cloud Application Services portfolios deliver SAP products as a fully managed, multi-cloud solution-as-a-service across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer – Performance & Security to lead quality engineering for our multi-cloud logging and data-processing platform.
The focus of this role is end-to-end automation, performance assurance, stress testing, security validation, and regression quality.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams across the platform (infrastructure, data, pipelines, and application layers) to ensure our services remain reliable, scalable, and secure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Databricks.

This role directly supports our cloud security posture, platform reliability, and internal quality standards.

SUMMARY

  • Build and maintain end-to-end automated tests across the platform.
  • Validate performance, latency, throughput, Apdex, and reliability.
  • Implement stress, load, and endurance testing for distributed systems.
  • Conduct QA-driven security validation to prevent regression and insecure behaviors.
  • Maintain regression reports and ensure release of readiness.
  • Improve pipelines and quality gates using Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise.
  • Ensure quality improvements are measurable (fewer incidents, fewer bugs, reduced rework).

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

End-to-End Automation

  • Create automated test suites that validate real platform workflows.
  • Ensure the automation framework is tool-agnostic.
  • Maintain coverage across infrastructure, orchestration, and application layers.

Performance & Stress Testing

  • Measure and validate latency, throughput, Apdex, and performance KPIs.
  • Build load, stress, spike, and endurance tests.
  • Identify bottlenecks and collaborate on optimizations.

Security Testing

  • Validate secure-by-default behaviors, including input validation, authentication flows, and error handling.
  • Create automated tests to detect common security regressions using OWASP Top 10, STRIDE, or similar models.
  • Test negative cases and misuse scenarios to ensure robustness.
  • Ensure security-related bugs are reproducible, tracked, and included in regression suites.
  • Help to prevent sensitive data exposure

Regression Quality

  • Maintain regression suites and dashboards.
  • Detect recurring failures and ensure stable releases.

CI/CD & Pipeline Quality

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for your automation (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Ensure consistent testing across dev, VLab, and production-like environments.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with engineering teams across cloud, data, pipeline, and UI layers.
  • Document test strategies, execution plans, and quality processes.
  • Help raise testing and quality standards across the team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience creating end-to-end test automation (language/framework agnostic).
  • Experience with performance assurance (latency, throughput, Apdex).
  • Experience with stress/load testing (any tool or language).
  • Experience with security testing (OWASP Top 10, STRIDE, misuse cases, secure-by-default validation).
  • Experience generating and maintaining regression reports.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines — Azure DevOps preferred.
  • Experience with at least one cloud provider — AWS preferred.
  • Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent).
    Framework does not matter — measurable quality impact does (fewer bugs, fewer incidents, reduced rework, stronger regression stability).

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with queueing systems (SQS, Pub/Sub, Service Bus).
  • Exposure to distributed data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CyberArk or similar Identity Provider.
  • Experience in monitoring or observability validation.
