At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

NOTE: this position will be based from our Reston, VA office following our hybrid working model of in-office 3 days a week. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Purpose & Objectives

The SuccessFactors Learning product is a global leader in HCM LMS solutions focused on making learning AI-driven, skills-focused, contextual, personalized and available at the moment of need. We are shifting from content-first delivery to a learner-first experience powered by modern UX, skills integration, and AI — so learning is smart, adaptive, and tightly connected to career outcomes.

This full‑time role will lead the planning, prioritization, delivery and adoption of AI-enhanced, user-centered learning experiences across the SuccessFactors LMS. You will partner across product, design, engineering, services and customers to define roadmaps, validate concepts with users, integrate AI capabilities safely and responsibly, and drive successful rollout and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Product strategy & road-mapping
  • Define and drive the product roadmap for user experience and AI-enabled features (learner and manager experiences, personalized recommendations, adaptive learning paths, search & retrieval, generative assistance).
  • Prioritize features based on user research, business value, technical feasibility and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative user research to discover needs, validate concepts, and continually improve UX.
  • Partner closely with designers to create prototypes, run usability testing, and shepherd solutions from concept to production.
  • Advocate for accessibility, simplicity, and delight across learner and administrator experiences.
  • Agentic AI & data product implementation
  • Work with agentic AI and data teams to translate learning outcomes into AI Assistants with ML/Generative AI product requirements (recommendation engines, LLM-based assistants, adaptive sequencing).
  • Specify APIs, data needs, performance targets and evaluation metrics for AI features; drive model validation, explainability, and customer engagement feedback.
  • Ensure responsible use of AI: privacy, data governance, bias mitigation and clear user affordances.
  • Measurement, analytics & experimentation
  • Define KPIs (engagement, skill growth, completion, business impact) and implement instrumentation to measure feature impact.
  • Design and run customer engagement design advisor sessions, analyze results, and iterate quickly based on data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering to enable reliable, scalable deployments for enterprise customers.
  • Customer engagement & adoption
  • Work with services, customer success and enablement to plan rollouts, produce adoption and transition guide strategies, and gather customer feedback and change requests.
  • Evangelize new capabilities internally and externally; help customers realize business value from AI-driven learning.
  • Cross-functional leadership
  • Coordinate across product managers, designers, engineers, user assistance, legal/privacy and security teams.
  • Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs and outcomes to stakeholders and executive leadership.

What success looks like

  • Measurable improvements in learner engagement, skill attainment and business outcomes.
  • Robust, responsible AI agents that scale across enterprise customers and demonstrably improve the learning experience.
  • Strong adoption and positive customer feedback driven by clear value and excellent UX.
  • Gain ownership across an end-to-end product lifecycle and exposure to large-scale ML and analytics systems.
  • Opportunity to influence product and adoption strategy at scale within a market-leading LMS.

  • Demonstrated experience designing or shipping user-centered experiences and working closely with UX/design teams.
  • Practical experience integrating Agentic/Conversational/Generative AI experiences into products (autonomous agents, recommendation systems, search, LLMs, or other ML features) and working with data/ML teams to operationalize models.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable defining metrics, running experiments, and using data to drive decisions (SQL or analytics tool experience preferred).
  • Experience translating customer needs into clear product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (SCORM, xAPI/cmi5), enterprise integrations and security/privacy considerations.
