Job Title: Senior Engineer – Business Data Cloud - Data Product Runtime Team

Job Description:

As a Senior Engineer in the Data Product Runtime Team, you will be an essential asset to the expansion of our Foundation Services team in Bangalore. Your expertise in Spark optimization, scalable data processing, and data transformation pipelines will drive SAP Business Data Cloud initiatives, supporting SAP's Data & AI strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Design, Implement and evolve capabilities of a highly scalable data processing framework running on Spark.

• Implement and refine pluggable data transformation pipelines for enhanced data processing efficiency.

• Enhance CI/CD workflows through GitOps methodologies for greater operational efficiency.

• Apply SQL skills to execute and optimize data transformations in large-scale projects.

• Integrate AI & ML technologies into engineering processes, adhering to industry best practices.

• Utilize SAP HANA Spark for effective data processing solutions.

• Communicate effectively with global colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Solid experience in data engineering, distributed data processing, and SAP HANA or related databases.

• Proficiency in Python (PySpark) is required; Scala and Java are beneficial.

• Experience in Spark optimization and scalable data processing.

• Expertise in developing data transformation pipelines.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, GitOps, and modern cloud stacks

• Understanding of AI & ML technologies and industry trends.

• Excellent communication skills for teamwork in a global context.

• Background in SAP Data Processing solutions is a plus.
