Two-Level AMS operating model — L1 Functional Gatekeeping bridging end users and the L2 application-management factory

Reporting Line
Reports to the engagement Project Manager. Functional escalation path to the customer Functional Primes and L2 module leads.
3. Primary Modules in Scope
Purchasing — purchase requisitions, purchase orders, source determination, release strategies.
Material Master, Vendor Master, Info Records, Source List.
Inventory Management — goods movements, stock types, physical inventory, stock valuation.
Logistics Invoice Verification (MIRO) and 3-way match.
Integration with FI (account determination), WM/EWM, and SD.
4. Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years hands-on S/4HANA MM and IM configuration and AMS support.
Strong configuration knowledge of release strategies, pricing procedures and account determination.
Goods-movement troubleshooting (MIGO, MB51, MMBE, MB5B).
Logistics invoice verification (MIRO/MIR4) and tolerance/blocking handling.
Working knowledge of integration to Ariba and FI.
Bilingual Arabic + English fluency for end-user interaction.
5. Nice-to-Have Qualifications
S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement Fiori apps.
Central Procurement / Ariba Buying integration.
Batch management and serial-number management.
6. Core L1 Gatekeeping Duties
These duties define the standard Functional Gatekeeping Layer behaviour for this role.
Validate incoming tickets against the L1 acceptance criteria and module ownership.
Categorise tickets and route them along the chain End User → Customer Support Team → L1 Gatekeeping → L2 Factory.
Provide basic troubleshooting and first-time resolution within the Functional Gatekeeping Layer.
Escalate only validated, qualified tickets — protect contractual ticket-volume thresholds.
Resolve ambiguous cases jointly with L2 leads and customer Functional Primes.
Transfer knowledge to the customer support team systematically to grow customer self-sufficiency over the engagement lifetime.
7. Role-Specific Responsibilities
Triage all MM/IM incident tickets at L1 — diagnose master data, configuration, and goods-movement errors.
Apply SAP Notes against standard MM/IM programs as part of the corrective backlog.
Advise on master-data hygiene (material, vendor, info-record, source-list).
Resolve PO release-strategy issues and price-determination errors.
Reconcile inventory movements during physical-inventory and period-end windows.
Hand-over qualified L2 cases to the L2 factory with full reproducible context.
8. Inherited Functional Scope (standard AMS)
Analyse errors in application transactions — master data, transactions, and reports.
Help end users use standard and customised programs effectively (advisory and how-to).
Provide advice on fixing master data issues (cleansing performed by the customer).
Make necessary configuration changes to fix errors within the standard SAP enhancement framework.
Production-environment issue diagnosis and error fixes.
Minor changes/fixes to existing WRICEF objects within BADIs, Enhancement Points and Customer Exits.
Resolve issues related to settings (configuration) and mapping.
Consulting and guidance on operational gaps and end-user training enablement.
Provide advisory input on new role definitions when the role touches functional authorisations.
