The Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) is looking for a Senior Compliance Root Cause Specialist to conduct root cause analysis reviews based on misconduct identified in compliance investigations globally. The successful candidate will write reports to summarize the root causes and document remediation actions for relevant stakeholders. This will ensure that SAP responds to compliance misconduct by taking steps to prevent issues re-occurring in the future.
The position reports to the Global Head of Compliance Monitoring & Analysis in the OEC. The OEC’s mission is to address bribery, corruption and significant fraud risks across SAP globally. Our focus includes compliance with the FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), UK Bribery Act, and other global anti-corruption and bribery laws.
What you'll do:
· Review findings from compliance investigations to identify process or control breakdowns (root causes) that enabled the misconduct to occur
· Proactively engage with the OEC Investigations team to understand findings in detail
· Agree feasible and realistic action plans with business stakeholders to fix root causes identified and enhance controls
· Write detailed, high-quality reports in English to communicate root cause findings and remediation actions clearly and concisely
· Support OEC colleagues to track completion of action plans and escalate if actions fall overdue
· Develop collaborative work relationships with stakeholders in OEC Investigations, other OEC teams and the wider business
What you bring:
· 5+ years’ experience in internal audit, compliance, risk, SOX or related topics
· Excellent report writing skills in business English (ideally as a first language), including ability to clearly and succinctly convey complex compliance issues in layman’s terms
· People skills to build strong relationships and work seamlessly with colleagues in OEC Investigations to understand investigation findings in detail
· Strong analytical skills to quickly understand and assess business processes and controls, identify root causes of misconduct
· Good understanding of internal investigation processes
· Practical thinker to devise feasible and realistic remediation actions to fix root causes
· Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and obtain consensus for remediation actions
· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field
· Location flexible.
