We’re looking for Senior Software Engineers who can turn high-value corporate travel, employee expense, vendor invoice, and spend-management scenarios into production-grade AI capabilities. You will build cloud-native microservices, retrieval and orchestration components, and agent-ready APIs that connect SAP business context with governed foundation models through SAP BTP and SAP AI Core.

THE VALUE YOU DELIVER
• Design, develop, evaluate, and operate AI-enabled capabilities across corporate travel, employee expenses, vendor invoices, and spend management from discovery through production.
• Build scalable services and agent-ready APIs in one or more of Go, Java, Kotlin, or Python, deployed with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and automated delivery pipelines.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context orchestration, tool use, structured outputs, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Integrate SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, generative AI hub, and SAP or partner services while maintaining clear boundaries between models, business rules, and transactional systems.
• Create repeatable evaluation frameworks for quality, groundedness, latency, safety, and cost; use observability and production feedback to improve outcomes.
• Apply privacy, security, responsible AI, and auditability controls throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Own cloud services end to end, including resilient architecture, zero-downtime deployments, canaries, feature flags, incident response, and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineers and partner with product managers, architects, data professionals, and UX teams to translate business problems into measurable AI outcomes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong professional software engineering experience delivering distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, Kotlin, or Python, with disciplined API design, testing, and code-quality practices.
• Hands-on experience building applications with large language models, including prompting, embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, model gateways, or agent orchestration.
• Experience with SAP BTP and SAP AI Core or comparable enterprise AI platforms; familiarity with Joule, AI Foundation, or the generative AI hub is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, continuous delivery, and cloud services such as AWS EC2, EKS, DynamoDB, object storage, queues, and observability tooling.
• Understanding of AI evaluation, hallucination and prompt-injection risks, data protection, authorization, model lifecycle management, and cost or latency tradeoffs. • Ability to design secure integrations with enterprise data using APIs, events, identity propagation, and least-privilege access. • Strong communication, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn, teach, and challenge assumptions with evidence.
