PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) is a part of the CEO Board Area, and reports to both SAP SE’s CEO and with a dotted line to the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board. Our mission is to advance SAP’s business goals by promoting a culture of integrity, and by mitigating a defined set of legal risks. The OEC is responsible for various SAP compliance initiatives, including oversight and support of the SAP Code of Business Conduct, employee compliance training and communications, and the global governance document framework. Our remit mainly includes prevention, detection and reaction to Money Laundering, Corruption, Bribery, and significant Fraud and as such ensure company’s adherence to the FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), the UK Bribery Act, and other global anti-corruption and bribery laws.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The successful candidate will be expected to manage the LAC Field Compliance Organization of the OEC. This includes ownership in managing a dynamic landscape. His/her key responsibilities will be:

  • Working with the Global Field Compliance Officer to guide the OEC Field Compliance strategy and oversee the Field Compliance Program in LAC
  • Manage and provide direction to the Field Compliance Officers’ team in LAC
  • Work with the Global Field Compliance Officer to establish standards and implement procedures to ensure that the compliance programs in LAC are effective and efficient in identifying & preventing anti-bribery and corruption risks
  • Actively and efficiently orchestrate consequence management.
  • Support the Field Compliance aspects of managing third party relationships in LAC
  • Align with the Global Field Compliance Officer and the CCPO team to implement the Field compliance training strategy, both team internal as well as for the internal and external target groups
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., GRAS, P&C, Global Legal, Export Controls & Sanctions, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and to resolve difficult legal compliance issues
  • Interact with senior executives and leaders in LAC on Field Compliance campaigns and issues
  • Monitor global compliance trends and changes to legal and regulatory climate in the area of anti-corruption and bribery

The position enjoys excellent exposure within the senior business on a regional scale.

The position reports to the OEC Global Field Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Preferably accredited lawyer, forensic accountant compliance auditor, or proven success in academic legal studies and related professional application
  • Hands-on with extreme attention to detail and written documentation
  • Proactive, dynamic and result driven individual
  • Strong grasp of code of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior leadership in dynamic environments
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluent business English and another language (Portuguese or Spanish) skills are required;

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of work experience in legal and/ or compliance organizations
  • Substantial experience in team coordination as well as navigating in international, diverse and virtual teams with sensitivity to cultural differences
