Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll do

We are seeking a Product Expert to drive SAP’s vision for intelligent, end-to-end procurement experiences. In this role, you’ll partner with product and engineering leaders across sourcing, contracting, buying, and fulfillment to define and execute a cohesive product and AI strategy that connects these domains through shared intelligence, contextual grounding, and workflow orchestration. You will translate the latest AI advancements into scalable, production-grade features that elevate user experiences, reduce manual effort, and drive measurable business outcomes across the procurement suite. While this is not a hands-on coding role, you’ll need strong technical fluency in LLMs, retrieval and grounding, and platform services to bridge engineering, data, and business teams across SAP’s ecosystem.

Your focus will include shaping the roadmap for procurement application and AI capabilities—such as assistants, agents, recommendations, insights, and automation—while ensuring alignment with Joule, SAP Knowledge Graph, the SAP Business Data Cloud, and central AI services. You’ll collaborate with engineering and platform teams to manage dependencies, accelerate delivery, and ensure consistency across products. In addition, you’ll work closely with other procurement and enterprise PMs to define how intelligent agents, shared models, and orchestration frameworks integrate across SAP and non-SAP ecosystems. This role will be pivotal in guiding teams toward an AI-first procurement experience, ensuring our products remain interoperable, grounded, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape Product and AI Strategy: Contribute and drive the procurement application and AI roadmap aligning with Joule, KG, BDC, central AI services, and support user research and customer events.
  • Gain market and customer insight: Analyze technology trends, customer needs, and competitors to identify SAP growth opportunities.
  • Ensure product definition: Incorporate customer input into product definitions, prioritize and describe backlog, align stakeholders on scope, and ensure rollout planning.
  • Ensure product delivery: Contribute to product vision, design, testing, sprint acceptance, rollout materials, and delivery. Validate scope, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and ensure high-quality software each sprint.
  • Lead Discovery: Identify high-impact AI opportunities by analyzing customer pain points, data gaps, and market trends.
  • Own the Product and AI Lifecycle: Partner with engineering and data science to design, test, and launch production-ready AI features and models.
  • Define Success Metrics: Establish and track KPIs for product and AI performance, adoption, and business impact to guide continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Collaborate with PMs to build ground-truth datasets and evaluate ML/AI feature quality using quantitative and qualitative signals.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with UX, platform, and domain teams to ensure consistent, contextual AI experiences across the procurement suite.
  • Drive Market Alignment: Partner with Product Marketing to articulate product and AI vision, differentiation, and customer value for go-to-market success.

What You Bring

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in customer-facing product management.
  • Experience building SaaS applications in the enterprise software space.
  • Experience building AI-first capabilities and making data-driven product decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience translating technical vision into business outcomes.
  • Strong customer management skills.
  • A strong ownership bias and willingness to jump into areas with great levels of ambiguity and drive clarity and progress forward.
  • Strong experience in Finance, Treasury, Payments, Settlement, Accounts Payable, and/or Accounts Receivable business processes is highly desired.

Soft Skills & Approach

  • Strategic, systems-level thinker with a bias toward action and clarity.
  • Strong sense of ownership, even when something is not part of your direct responsibility.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across distributed global teams.
  • Effective communicator. Able to influence and align with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities and complex technology stacks.

Where you belong
