Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Product Expert at our Plano, TX location responsible for the success, quality, cost management and delivery of a product, product group or complex project in the whole product lifecycle as defined in the portfolio including rolling it out to the ecosystem with customers and partners at every possible opportunity.
Expectations and Tasks:
Contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness and improvement of processes used in own area. Monitor market tendencies and technology trends. Analyze technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP by engaging in ecosystem activities e.g trade fairs, analyst conferences and partner. Contribute to business case, develop and drive a product vision and a product roadmap. Constantly evaluate competitive products on basis of publicly available information to ensure his/her product is on-par or competitive in the current market. Customer and partner roll-in by spending time with the customers and partners onsite, but also rolling out the roadmap directly to partners. Conduct interviews, participates in customer and partner events throughout North America. Ensure customer and partner input into all product definitions by spending time with customers and partners. Own and prioritize product backlog which reflects customer and partner and user needs in order to achieve competitive advantage and increases the value for the customer and partner. Provide holistic overview on overall product backlog and ensure Product team and related Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of the product backlog. Ensure rollout plan. Has a long term view on the product. A near horizon & long term view is expected. Drive holistic product vision and product design and ensures all product teams have a comprehensive understanding of it. Develop test cases and/or conduct expert testing and validates planned and implemented scope throughout product lifecycle and ensures delivery of high quality software. Accept or reject sprint results on a Scrum of Scrum level. Ensure creation of product-related non-coded assets in close cooperation with central teams e.g. Release Management, Production, and Governance. Ensure the delivery of a product to implement the solution strategy. Collect & incorporate early feedback from Customers and other relevant stakeholders. Remain cognizant of usable software being available at the end of every sprint. Ensure both the internal stakeholders & external ecosystem is aware of the developments by working closely with stakeholders and customer groups. Live innovative thinking. Contribute to related communities. Identify opportunities and drive innovation in respective topics and domains of the functional role. Actively follow and share developments and trends regarding new SAP and complimentary partner service and solution offerings, industry trends and other topic areas relevant for the respective domain.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must include five (5) years involving each of the following:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders on management- and executive-level including steering committee updates; and
- Work in a complex product portfolio landscape with solution knowledge of SAPs industry solutions and Technology platform.
Experience must involve three (3) years in the following:
- Define and manage projects, define deliverables and working towards the outcome;
- Drive strategic topics with a complex matrix of internal and external stakeholders; and
- Work with SAP Partner Ecosystem on Management level for growth areas like BTP and AI.
Travel: Position does require up to 30% domestic and international travel to roll out product updates, hands on trainings and product bootcamps at partner offices on a quarterly basis. Complete organization, preparation and running of customer and partner events in various settings on a quarterly basis.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $180,564 - $306,844. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $220,200 - $374,200. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
