Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Meet your team

The Order-to-Invoice (O2I) team supports the processes for the administration of Cloud Subscription, Software License, Support, and Services contracts and invoices starting with the receipt of signed contracts, assuring correct reflection of customer contracts and invoicing, leading to accelerated cash for SAP.

The O2I Revenue Assurance team is responsible for safeguarding SAP’s revenue integrity across business models. The team ensures that licensing, royalty, and partner-related revenue flows are accurate, compliant, and well-governed, supporting SAP’s financial, compliance, and risk management objectives.

Revenue Assurance operates as a second-line, expert function, focusing on process design, standardization, automation, governance, controls, and risk mitigation. The team works closely with O2I Regional execution teams, Royalty Management, Corporate Process and IT, Legal, Controlling, Internal Audit to ensure that revenue-critical processes are transparent, robust, scalable, compliant, and audit-ready.

In this role, you will act as a process and governance expert for third-party royalty and licensing topics, driving E2E process standardization, identifying gaps, coordinating improvements, and ensuring SAP’s revenue assurance framework evolves in line with business and compliance needs.

What you’ll do

1. Process Ownership & End-to-End Review

  • Own and continuously review end-to-end processes impacting third-party royalties and related revenue flows (e.g. booking, invoicing, end-of-life, corrections, reporting).
  • Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and inconsistencies across systems, regions, and teams.
  • Drive remediation initiatives in close collaboration with O2I Operations, Royalty Management, and Global Process Management.

2. Governance, Controls & Risk Management

  • Design, maintain, and enhance governance frameworks, control concepts, and control narratives (incl. SOX-relevant controls) related to royalties and partner revenue.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation tracking by providing structured analysis, documentation, and expert input.

3. Methodology, Standards & Enablement

  • Define and continuously improve standards, methodologies, and guardrails for revenue assurance activities (including reconciliations, corrections, and EoL handling).
  • Own and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and decision frameworks for complex or non-standard scenarios.
  • Enable and guide operational and regional teams through training, documentation, and expert support.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination & IT Collaboration

  • Coordinate improvement initiatives with IT, including requirement definition, testing, and validation of system or process changes.
  • Act as a single point of coordination for cross-functional topics that span across O2I, Finance, Operations, Royalty Management, Legal, and IT.
  • Support strategic projects and transformations related to new business models, tooling, or process changes.

5. Exception Handling & Targeted Execution

  • In exceptional, time-critical, or high-risk situations take hands-on ownership of execution to ensure timely and compliant outcomes.
  • Perform centralized corrective or termination activities when coordination with distributed operational teams would introduce undue risk or delay.
  • Ensure such exceptions are properly documented and translated into future process or control improvements.

6. Continuous Improvement & Forward-Looking Development

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and simplification.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Revenue Assurance toward more preventive, continuous, and data-driven models.
  • Support the long-term expansion of Revenue Assurance into cloud and consumption-based business models.

What you bring

  1. Experience & Knowledge
    • 3–6 years of experience in Finance, O2I, Revenue Accounting, Royalty Management, Deal Support or Audit-related roles.
    • Experience in process improvement initiatives and/or project management (e.g. leading cross-functional topics, coordinating deliverables, managing timelines and dependencies) is an advantage.
    • Solid understanding of financial processes, controls, and data flows; experience with royalties or licensing models is a strong advantage.
    • Experience working with SAP systems (O2I, order-to-cash, finance, or related systems) is a plus.
  2. Analytical & Conceptual Skills
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex data flows, contracts, and system interdependencies.
    • Ability to assess risks, identify gaps, and think in terms of controls, governance, and root causes.
    • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on governance, controls, and risk mitigation.
  3. Ways of Working
    • Structured, detail-oriented, and quality-focused mindset.
    • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership, while collaborating across teams and functions.
    • Ability to work with ambiguity and take ownership in evolving environments.
    • Ability to balance thorough analysis with pragmatic decision-making in a complex environment.
  4. Communication & Stakeholder Management
    • Confident communicator, able to explain complex topics clearly to different audiences.
    • Experience working with cross-functional and international stakeholders.
    • Fluent in written and spoken business English.
