About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned leader to serve as Senior Manager within SAP’s Competitive, Customer and Markets Insights (CMI) organization. You will lead a global team of experienced CMI analysts delivering actionable competitive, customer, analyst, partner, and market insights, to the SAP board, as well as across all board areas, including senior executives, line‑of‑business leaders, and field sales teams. This role requires strong leadership, broad knowledge of enterprise software markets and competitive landscapes, and the ability to communicate effectively across board, executive, and sales audiences, while driving the integration of AI into CMI daily workflows and support of SAP’s broader AI transformation.
As a people manager, you are responsible for developing direct and extended team members, building strong peer and cross functional team relationships, and being a role model for coaching, recognition, and accountability. In this role, you will also deliver guidance in expert competitive research and insights delivery, provide daily leadership of senior professionals, and demonstrate your strong commitment to helping SAP and its people successfully embrace and win with AI.
What You’ll Do | Tasks & Responsibilities
- People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a global team of senior CMI professionals across business application and technology domains.
- Build a high‑performing, AI‑enabled team culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Coach and mentor experienced team members, supporting career growth and next‑level readiness.
- Foster strong collaboration across CMI and with key stakeholders, including Corporate Strategy, Product, Sales, Partner, and Customer teams.
- Executive Communications & Operational Accountability
- Drive cross‑functional alignment to maximize the impact, consistency, and quality of 360-degree insights across SAP.
- Deliver clear, concise, executive‑ and board‑ready intelligence briefings and presentations, ensuring SAP is aware of market trends, futures & competitive moves
- Translate complex market, competitive, and AI insights into actionable recommendations
- Adapt communication effectively across executive, operational, and sales audiences.
- Enable field sales teams with practical, sales‑relevant competitive positioning and insights
- Competitive, Customer & Market Insights
- Support for strategy, product, go-to-market, and sales teams, through analysis and oversight of AI‑enabled research and delivery of enterprise software market, competitive, and customer intelligence across SAP solution areas, industries, and geographies.
- Manage executive and board‑level ad-hoc research and synthesize external analyst inputs into executive‑ready outputs.
- Provide an end-to-end independent perspective, identifying competitive gaps, market trends, and emerging innovations that inform and are aligned to SAP strategy and execution.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing influence and advocacy, engagement and enablement, acting as a proactive change-agent across the business, enabling customer-first, data-driven decisions.
- Guide expert‑level competitor, market, and technology analysis to improve insight quality and impact.
- AI Transformation Leadership
- Lead adoption of AI‑first approaches across CMI, embedding AI into research, analysis, synthesis, and insight delivery workflows.
- Build AI capability and literacy across the team through hands‑on leadership and experimentation.
- Support AI rollout across SAP’s portfolio and services through competitive and market insight leadership.
- Implement AI‑enabled intelligence tools, scalable research frameworks, and knowledge management systems to increase speed, quality, and impact.
What You Bring | Background and Skills
Experience & Expertise
- 8+ years in enterprise software research and competitive intelligence, including market dynamics, win/loss analysis, and engaging with industry analysts.
- 5+ years leading senior, experienced teams.
- Proven ability to drive AI‑enabled insights and transformation.
- Strong sales acumen and experience supporting field teams with actionable competitive intelligence
Leadership & Communication
- Proven people leader and coach of senior professionals, with experience across formal, informal, and complex, matrixed organizational structures
- Demonstrated change leader with experience in driving AI‑first transformations.
- Strong executive presence with senior leadership and board‑level stakeholders.
- Clear, adaptable communicators across executive, operational, and sales audiences.
Technical & Functional Knowledge
- Deep understanding of market intelligence methodologies, competitive frameworks, and enterprise software markets.
- Experience implementing AI‑enabled CI platforms and knowledge management systems.
Preferred Locations: West Coast and East Coast USA (e.g. Seattle, Palo Alto, Newtown Square, New York, Atlanta...)

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 254400 - 432800(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
