Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build

As Head of E2E User Experience, you will lead the UX function within the CE3 organisation, driving User Experience across C&P strategic transformations and Agentic AI initiatives. You will own the UX strategy, operating model, and delivery capability for a team of 30+ UX professionals spanning user research, product UX, and UX foundations.

This role demands a strategic thinker and thought leader who understands how UX as a discipline is evolving with the advent and rapid progress of AI. You will shape the future of user engagement layers, human-in-the-loop touchpoints, and experience design patterns that define how users interact with intelligent systems. You will set direction, raise the bar on design quality, and create the conditions for high-performing UX practices across all delivery verticals, while positioning UX as a critical enabler of C&P's Agentic AI ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

UX Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop a team of 30+ UX professionals across three practices: Project UX, Product UX (embedded in delivery verticals), and UX Foundation. Set clear goals, provide design leadership, manage workload allocation across strategic projects and verticals, and drive a culture of user-centricity, design rigour, and continuous improvement.

Experience Strategy Ownership

Own the end-to-end experience strategy for C&P, ensuring coherent user journeys across Partner & Customer Portals, and internal tools. Define and govern design standards, ensuring consistent application of SAP Fiori and Digital Design System guidelines across all touchpoints.

Strategic Initiative UX Leadership

Provide dedicated UX leadership for focus programmes and initiatives. Scope and plan UX activities, lead user research, create design concepts, and ensure seamless handover to delivery teams.

Agentic AI Experience Design

Play a leading role in defining the user experience patterns for C&P's Agentic AI strategy. Establish interaction design standards for AI agents, define human-in-the-loop touchpoints where human expertise validates or intervenes in agent actions, and design the engagement layers that make agent experiences intuitive, trustworthy, and adoption-ready. Lead the AI Agents UX Harmonisation initiative across C&P's agentic AI focus programmes. Shape how users collaborate with autonomous agents across the C&P value chain.

UX Measurement & Quality Governance

Own UX measurement frameworks including UXi, UX-Lite, and behavioural analytics across C&P products. Establish design quality gates and feedback loops that ensure user insights drive design decisions. Drive continuous improvement through usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and user feedback analysis.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with product, process management, engineering, and architecture teams to ensure UX is integrated from the earliest stages of product development. Maintain structured collaboration with delivery verticals (Deal Execution, Order to Cash, Adopt to Consume, Demand Generation, Partner & Ecosystem) to ensure embedded UX capacity and cross-vertical design coherence. Partner with SAP Design to leverage enterprise design systems and tools.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Represent UX at senior leadership level, communicating design strategy, progress, and impact. Drive UX awareness and engagement across the C&P organisation through communication, training, and success sharing. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure UX is understood as a strategic capability, not an afterthought.

What you bring

Subject Experience

A minimum of 5 years of UX leadership experience, including at least 3 years leading UX teams of 15+ professionals in complex enterprise environments. Demonstrated track record of owning and delivering UX strategy at scale across multiple products and stakeholder groups.

Deep expertise in user-centred design methodologies, design systems governance, and UX measurement frameworks. Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end experience design for enterprise B2B and B2C products.

Extensive experience with enterprise design systems (Fiori, Material, or equivalent). Familiarity with SAP products and the SAP design ecosystem is strongly preferred.

Agentic AI and Experience Design: Demonstrable experience and exposure to Agentic AI solutions and experience design is essential. This includes conversational UX, agent-based interfaces, human-in-the-loop interaction patterns, and designing for AI-augmented workflows. Candidates must articulate a clear point of view on how UX as a discipline is evolving with the rapid progress of AI, and how experience design enables trust, adoption, and value realisation in intelligent systems.

People Leadership

Significant, verifiable experience leading and growing UX teams across multiple locations and practice areas. This is not a first-line management opportunity; candidates are expected to bring a mature leadership track record including performance management, team development, and the ability to build and sustain high-performing design teams. Experience managing distributed teams across European delivery centres is essential.

Cross-team Collaboration

A proven track record of driving design alignment across multiple delivery units and peer teams, including product, engineering, and architecture. The ability to influence at senior levels while maintaining credibility with design and engineering teams is essential.

Leadership and Coordination Skills

Exceptional capacity to lead, coordinate, and resolve complex operational challenges across multiple concurrent workstreams. Candidates must bring a track record of working directly with senior executive stakeholders across both business and technical functions, with the credibility and gravitas to operate at that level. Comfort with high organisational visibility and pressure is essential.

Communication

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of German is a plus. Strong presentation and storytelling skills to communicate design vision and impact to diverse audiences.

Desired Attributes

Strategic Thinking and Thought Leadership: A visionary leader who can anticipate how UX as a discipline will evolve with the advent of AI, and who can shape the organisation's approach to experience design accordingly. Ability to think beyond current paradigms and articulate how human-in-the-loop touchpoints, engagement layers, and agent experiences will define the next generation of enterprise software.

Design Vision: A compelling design leader with a clear point of view on what great user experience looks like, and the ability to articulate and champion that vision across the organisation.

AI-Forward Mindset: Genuine curiosity and strategic thinking about how AI will transform user experience, with the ability to position UX as a critical enabler of AI adoption and business value.

Results-Oriented: A results-driven mindset focused on delivering measurable improvements in user satisfaction, task completion, and adoption across C&P products.

Collaborative Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and productive relationships across diverse teams, locations, and functions.

Where you belong

You will be a core leadership team member of the Cross Engineering, Experience & Excellence (CE3) organisation. CE3 is a dynamic unit made up of a high-performing group of professionals dedicated to driving User Experience across C&P strategic transformations and Agentic AI initiatives. Our diverse team collaborates on complex, cross-functional projects with significant organisational impact, including the C&P Architecture Modernisation programme and the buildout of our Agentic AI delivery capability. The UX function spans 30+ professionals across Walldorf, Berlin, Sofia, Warsaw, Prague, and other SAP locations. If you enjoy working in a thriving environment with a heterogeneous team, passionate about shaping the future of user experience in an AI-first world, this is the team for you.
