As a User Assistance Developer/Technical Writer (f/m/d) in SAP’s Consumer Industries unit, you will join a highly skilled and supportive User Assistance team committed to fostering collaboration and professional growth. You’ll work closely with product owners, developers, UX designers, fellow user assistance developers, and translators to create and enhance user assistance content, as well as participate in content initiatives to ensure the highest possible quality of our deliverables. Day-to-day, you will explain complex technical features in easy-to-understand help content, follow SAP guidelines and best practices, support and contribute to user assistance goals, keep up with the latest trends in AI, and actively share and receive constructive feedback with your peers. Last Mile Distribution, the product you will be supporting as a user assistance developer, enables manufacturers and suppliers of different consumer goods to coordinate all phases of the distribution process: from route preparation to route execution through to route settlement.

The solution provides an alternative distribution approach to centralized distribution and is especially suitable for consumer goods companies involved in the production of food and beverages.

You will :

  • Plan, design, develop, and edit user assistance deliverables, including various types of documentation, user interface text, in-app help, and enablement materials across multiple media types
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts and participate in customer engagement activities to research and understand user information needs
  • Acquire, analyze, and organize source information such as functional specifications and user stories
  • Ensure content quality and consistency through proofreading, editing, usability testing, and compliance with localization and accessibility requirements
  • Manage assigned sub-projects, track deliverables and milestones, and provide regular status updates to management or project leads
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and share industry knowledge related to user assistance tools, trends, and emerging technologies

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in writing and producing user assistance deliverables for software products and services
  • University degree in technical writing, technical documentation, translation, or an equivalent field of study
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, both written and spoken
  • Strong competence in DITA CCMS; experience in GitHub is a plus
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a passion for creating accessible, user-focused content
  • Keen interest in leveraging AI in your daily work
