At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Developer in Berlin or Potsdam with a strong agile mindset to join our team. In this unique role, you will balance responsibilities as a Scrum Master while actively contributing to development work in full-stack capacities. We are looking for a developer with 2+ years of development experience and experience working in a Scrum team.

IMPORTANT: This position is a temporary backfill for an employee on maternity and parental leave. It should start in November 2025 or later and will be set for up to 12 or 15 months. The contract might end sooner if the employee opts to come back earlier than planned.

What you`ll do:

Scrum Master Responsibilities (50%):

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Support and coach the team to drive agile best practices, support continuous improvement, and remove obstacles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive agile best practices on an organizational level.
  • Foster an environment that encourages trust, open communication, feedback, and transparency within the team.
  • Support the team in the transition to the Harmonized Product Operating Model.
  • Coach and support the team in terms of implementing new organizational requirements such as metrics and OKRs.

Development Responsibilities (50%):

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
  • Build and iterate new product functionality that empowers users to collaboratively improve their workflows and processes.
  • Utilize your expertise in frontend and/or backend development to enhance software functionality and deliver an outstanding user experience.
  • Contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from brainstorming ideas to delivering continuous improvements informed by customer feedback and data.
  • Collaborate closely with an experienced feature team, including Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers, to deliver projects on time and within scope in an agile environment.

What you bring:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks, such as Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Spring Boot, or React.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA), hyperscalers (e.g., SAP BTP), PaaS tools (e.g., CloudFoundry), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Scrum Master capabilities, advocating for agile principles, fostering open communication, and providing constructive feedback to enable a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Strong background in agile, cross-functional software development teams, and extensive experience driving best practices like test-driven development (TDD), pair programming, and fast iterative development with a fail-fast attitude.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining automated tests (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, English proficiency (written and spoken), and a strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and continuous learning.
  • A proactive and autonomous mindset, combined with rigor, involvement, and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with SAP CAP, UI5 Web Components, or SAP HANA technologies.
  • Experience with performance metrics and metric frameworks (DORA, HEART, or SPACE) is a plus.

Meet your team:

We empower our customers to drive transformation through the smart use of data and are seeking a Full-Stack Developer to help shape the future of enterprise software. Join our agile, cross-functional team of passionate engineers and product experts, driving innovation with intuitive, modern cloud solutions.
