Job Title: Development Expert – SAP SuccessFactor

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer (Development Expert) to join the SuccessFactors Transformation Engineering team. This role goes beyond traditional software development, and you will help shape the future of AI-driven enterprise SaaS solutions.

As part of a dynamic engineering group, you will design, build, and optimize scalable tenants, intelligent automation, and AI-powered features. You’ll contribute to both core product development and next-generation frameworks that integrate machine learning, automation, and quality engineering into large-scale SaaS systems

What you’ll build

As a Development Expert, your responsibilities will include:

  • Gaining a thorough understanding of both current and future technical strategies and product roadmaps to ensure solutions align appropriately.
  • Working collaboratively with Senior Architects and SuccessFactors Central Architects to design solutions that fulfil both functional and non-functional requirements, particularly focusing on security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Promoting a culture centred on innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth within the team. Lead by example in driving innovation and demonstrating continuous improvement in deliverables.
  • Coaching team members to enhance their proficiency in development processes, quality standards, and relevant technologies, thereby elevating overall expertise and productivity.
  • Consistently refining designs and implementations and making substantial contributions to the ongoing development of the technical roadmap.

What you bring!

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 12–14 years of hands-on Java/JEE web application and database development, including migration scripts.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing.
  • Proficient in RDBMS and SQL performance tuning.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills; innovative mindset.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or SAP BTP cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot.
  • Effective team player with strong collaboration skills; able to mentor and lead junior colleagues.
