Purpose and Objective:

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software features in a development team using best coding standards and target architecture.

Expectations and Tasks:

Debug complex issues in the code and figure out the root cause and use tests automation to validate the work. Utilize emerging technologies in the field of cloud development to contribute to the ongoing development of SAP‘s suite of products. Troubleshoot issues within area of expertise and supports others in revolving issues. Demonstrate a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Automate continuous Integration, Delivery, Deployment and Agile practices for highly scalable systems. Support data analysis, visualization and research. Support software quality assurance methodology including code inspection, various test strategies, test design and automation. Monitor software behavior and collect, process, and display metrics and logs with tools.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve two (2) years in the following:

  • Requirements elicitation and prioritization;

  • Programming languages including Java, Java Script, Go, Python, and Groovy;

  • Software development using database and middleware including PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Kafka;

  • Frontend web application development using React;

  • Backend server development experience using Spring Boot;

  • Docker and Kubernetes; and

  • UNIX/Linux based environments, shell scripting, and infrastructure provided by cloud computing platforms.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $151,079 - $178,740. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $151,079 - $198,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
