Role

In your role as an Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the coding, testing, and quality assurance in a cloud-native development team that infuses AI and reimagines business processes with SAP Joule. You will assess and solve issues in new or existing code, and work with high attention to detail, reliability, and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with your team members to ensure success. In your day-to-day, you will:

What you build

• Develop core features and enhancements for the product, focusing on AI-driven solutions and leveraging SAP Joule.
• Innovate, design, develop, and test AI product features with emphasis on testability, quality, performance, and operability.
• Utilize machine learning algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), and other AI techniques to enhance product capabilities.
• Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code, particularly those related to AI models and data pipelines.
• Work closely with senior team members and technical leads to ensure the team's success in delivering AI solutions.
• Take responsibility for assessing the quality of AI feature areas.
• Contribute to code areas that need refactoring and architectural changes, especially those involving AI components. Investigate product issues with in-depth analysis and customer impact and assist with prioritizing them.
• Work with the project team to plan, prioritize, and schedule AI features, making appropriate compromises to ensure high quality and timely delivery of the features.
• Troubleshoot and fix customer issues, particularly those related to AI functionalities.
• Proactively coordinate status updates across disciplines and feature teams to enable better coordination between groups; identify risks, dependencies, and other obstacles, and enable managers and others to take action to resolve issues.

• Professional experience of 5+ years with educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• AI and Machine Learning Basics: Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), and other AI techniques.
• Programming Skills: Basic proficiency in Python, R, and experience with Java, SpringBoot, and REST.
• Front-End Technologies: Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or any UI framework.
• Data Structures and Algorithms: Fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Analytical Mindset: Self-motivated with an innate sense of curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English, with effective communication skills.
• Results-Oriented: Results-oriented mindset coupled with exceptional execution capabilities.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to the success of AI-driven projects.
