WHAT YOU'LL BUILD:

In your role as Senior Machine Learning/ AI Engineer for the Public Cloud AI Cross Function team with Tools & Delivery, you’ll design, prototype AI-powered solutions that help SAP teams and customers transform real business challenges into measurable outcomes.

• You’ll be responsible for setting up and leading technical analysis and AI prototypes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to do PoCs on the latest and greatest on the AI stack and Eco-system. PoCs then have the potential to be productised.
• Your work will directly impact how AI is adopted and enabled in Public Cloud empowering teams to move from exploration to production with speed and confidence.
• You’ll co-design and run hackathons and incubation programs, shaping the technical backbone that enables teams to test, validate, and iterate on their ideas.
• You’ll evaluate and prioritise high-impact AI technologies in the market and how it can play a part in public cloud
• You will help productise PoC into viable product roadmaps with leads, PM, architects and engineering.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Research oriented bent of mind and able work work on vague concepts.
• Strong hands-on experience in machine learning, AI engineering, data science, with proven ability to translate complex concepts into working prototypes.
• Hands-on Deep familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, SAP BTP, or similar).
• Hands-on & Skilled in Python, ML frameworks, MCP, Agentic AI, Joule, BDC, A2A and modern MLOps or LLMOps practices
• Experience facilitating hackathons, data challenges, or innovation sprints, combining technical rigor with creativity and collaboration.
• Growth mindset with a curiosity to experiment, learn fast, and help others do the same – balancing innovation speed with data and model integrity.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills to translate technical progress into business impact, fostering trust and excitement among non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for building together – thriving in multidisciplinary environments where design, engineering, and business strategy intersect
• Understanding of S4 Public Cloud, Governance process etc will be an advantage
