What you'll build:
You are working in the within the Global Accounting & Reporting (GAR) Team that forms part of Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) department of SAP. This department is directly assigned to the CFO of SAP within the area of Global Accounting, Reporting and Tax (GAR&T) and is responsible for the completeness and correctness of SAP’s accounting and external financial reporting under German and International law.
The GAR team evaluates, decides on and oversees IFRS technical accounting topics for subsidiaries worldwide (outside IFRS 15 and revenue accounting) that have a global impact and also own the SAP Group Accounting Guideline and manages its external reporting. The team executes end to end accounting processes within its Centers of Expertise (Deals: M&A Accounting; employee benefits including pension accounting, share-based compensation and restructuring accounting; financial instruments, litigation and compliance-related matters; hyperinflation and FX-related matters; cost of sales classification matters).
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
As a Finance Expert you will assist the Head of Deals with complex topics and will:
- Lead and assess complex IFRS accounting topics, with a primary focus on business combinations and M&A transactions.
- Determine and communicate appropriate accounting treatments to global stakeholders.
- Provide deep expertise in financial reporting valuation, including business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, and valuation of intangible assets.
- Assess and support accounting and valuation of privately held equity interests, strategic investments, and venture capital activities.
- Contribute to accounting for transaction and investment structuring, joint ventures etc.
- Draft and review disclosures for group financial statements.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and efficient use of R2R processes.
- Maintain and enhance global accounting guidelines in line with evolving IFRS standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert internally and externally.

What you bring:
- Strong expertise in M&A accounting and financial reporting valuation, including enterprise valuation, goodwill impairment, and intangible asset valuation.
- Proven experience with privately held equity valuations and complex investment structures.
- Hybrid skillset combining accounting, financial reporting, and valuation perspectives.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments, venture capital, and investment and transaction accounting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Fluent in English and German is a must.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SAP ERP and interest in AI-driven finance solutions is a plus.
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:
- University degree with special topics in finance, preferably accounting and/or auditing
- Professional certification (CPA, CA, ACCA) and/or valuation credentials preferred (CFA, CVA).
- 8+ years of experience in IFRS accounting, ideally within a multinational environment, valuation practice, or a Big 4 audit/transaction advisory firm.
