Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build:

We are seeking a motivated Business Engagement Lead (f/m/d) – AI Adoption & Procurement to join SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO).
This hybrid role combines business engagement and category enablement with hands-on AI adoption and capability building, supporting SAP Procurement on its journey towards AI‑enabled ways of working.

Business Engagement Lead (approx. 50%):

  • Strategic Business Interface:
You act as the key interface between Procurement Category Teams and central GPO functions, ensuring strong alignment of business priorities, governance, processes, and technology.
  • Topic & Priority Ownership:
You safeguard the identification, prioritization, and execution of relevant business topics and initiatives, ensuring value creation for GPO, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
You serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for your assigned category, with a strong understanding of procurement processes, stakeholder landscapes, and digital tools.
  • Project & Initiative Enablement:
You proactively monitor progress and deliverables of category‑specific and cross‑category initiatives, working closely with Heads of Procurement, Category Managers, and central GPO teams.
  • Systems & Tools Engagement:
You act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) from a business perspective for key procurement platforms (e.g. Ariba Guided Buying, SAP Fieldglass), ensuring business needs are translated into scalable and compliant solutions.

AI Adoption & Enablement (approx. 50%):

AI Ambassador for Procurement:
You act as an AI ambassador within Procurement, actively promoting AI usage and innovative ways of working across multiple teams and functions.

  • Enablement & Training:
You design and deliver regular trainings, enablement sessions, and co‑creation formats, empowering employees to confidently use AI tools in their day‑to‑day work.
  • Collaboration with Central AI Teams:
You engage closely with the central GPO AI Core Team, ensuring alignment between central AI initiatives and real procurement use cases and needs.
  • Agent & Use Case Enablement:
You support the design, testing, and adoption of AI agents and AI‑driven use cases, translating business challenges into practical AI applications.
  • Open Exchange & Hands‑On Support:
You proactively offer opportunities for employees to exchange ideas on AI, provide ad‑hoc support, and help teams overcome barriers to adoption through hands‑on guidance.

What you bring:

  • Strong Business Partnering Skills:
You bring excellent stakeholder management skills and feel comfortable operating at the intersection of business, technology, and change.
  • AI & Innovation Mindset:
You have a strong curiosity for AI and digital innovation and enjoy experimenting, learning, and enabling others to adopt new tools and ways of working.
  • Experience & Background:
You have experience in procurement, business engagement, transformation, digital enablement, or related areas within a multinational environment. Hands‑on exposure to AI use cases or automation is needed.
  • Communication & Facilitation Skills:
You are a confident communicator and facilitator, comfortable running trainings, workshops, and co‑creation sessions across virtual and international teams.
  • Language Skills:
Fluency in English is required for this role.

Where you belong:

The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) drives procurement excellence across SAP by combining strong business partnering with scalable processes, governance, and technology enablement.

As a Business Engagement Lead, you will work closely with Procurement Category Teams, central GPO functions, and key stakeholders across SAP. You will become part of a highly collaborative and forward‑looking procurement community that values transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
