Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

About the role

You will be the Product Owner for Business AI and Agentic AI initiatives within Corporate Process and Information Technology (CPIT) for People & Culture (P&C) area, acting as the primary bridge between P&C business process experts and engineers in CPIT AI Incubation team. Your mission is to translate P&C related AI strategy along the hire-to-retire processes, focusing on Recruiting & Onboarding, into a prioritized product backlog of AI-enabled features and agents — from SuccessFactors standard AI capabilities to custom agent workflows — and to drive delivery, adoption as customer zero and measurable business outcomes while ensuring compliance, privacy and ethical guardrails.

What you’ll do

Own the implementation backlog and roadmap for Business AI and agentic AI features in the P&C domain.

Run discovery with P&C business stakeholders and end users to define problem statements, user personas, acceptance criteria and success metrics.

Translate business needs into clear user stories, technical specifications and acceptance tests for engineering, platform and ML teams.

Prioritize work balancing business value, risk, compliance and technical dependencies or phased launches.

Coordinate cross-functional delivery in collaboration with P&C business, CPIT AI Incubation team and SuccessFactors product teams.

Define and track KPIs (task completion, time-to-resolution, user satisfaction, ROI) and iterate based on telemetry and user feedback.

Champion governance, data privacy and ethical guardrails: role-based access, data handling, human-in-the-loop policies and escalation behavior.

Orchestrate user adoption, training and change management activities with P&C change teams and operations owners.

Present product status, risks and roadmap to P&C leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Present success stories internally and externally under the umbrella SAP runs SAP

Core responsibilities / expectations

Drive business process transformation using agentic AI across hire-to-retire processes with special focus on Recruiting & Onboarding as well as board-level scenarios.

In case of CPIT developments you facilitate discovery workshops, user research, rapid prototyping and usability testing to validate assumptions and reduce delivery risk.

Work with CPIT AI Incubation team to compare agent architectures, prompt approaches, retrieval strategies and model options; recommend production choices based on experiments and tradeoffs.

Plan and execute pilots, beta releases; partner with QA and SRE to ensure monitoring, observability and incident response.

Ensure robust fallback behavior and human oversight for high-risk workflows.

Provide functional domain specific data and process insights for engineering team.

Coordinate system configuration and definition of customizing activities.

Support creation and maintenance of product documentation, playbooks, onboarding materials and stakeholder communications.

Lead business change, user adoption of use cases, and plan rollout including communication

Measure business value realization and usage (incl. telemetry)

Contribute to identifying follow-up use cases and improvements

Preferred experience and skills

Proven Product Owner experience delivering digital/AI products (3–7+ years recommended), preferably in SuccessFactors, automation or agentic AI contexts.

Practical knowledge of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), chaining/orchestration patterns and tool-enabled agents.

Experience integrating with enterprise HR systems (SuccessFactors preferred) and understanding HR data/workflow patterns.

Demonstrated ability running pilots, canary releases, feature-flag rollouts, and establishing observability for AI services.

Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and product discovery skills; able to lead cross-functional workshops and align diverse stakeholders.

Experience defining governance, safety and ethical guardrails for AI systems and working with compliance teams.

Excellent communicator — able to convey technical trade-offs and business impact to leadership.

Change management and organizational adoption experience for AI-enabled workflows is a strong plus.

Minimum qualifications

Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field — or equivalent experience.

3+ years’ experience in product management or product ownership; at least some hands-on exposure to AI/ML products or intelligent automation.

Track record of shipping production AI-assisted or automation solutions and driving user adoption.

Why this role matters

You will help define how agentic AI improves HR experience and operational efficiency at scale. By acting as the connection point between business strategy and engineering delivery, you will ensure AI investments deliver measurable value while respecting enterprise controls, privacy and ethics.
