ROLE DESCRIPTION
Global Recruiting Operations EMEA is looking for a Background Verification Consultant to support and continuously improve the pre-employment screening process across the EMEA region. In this role, you will partner with candidates, hiring managers, HR, Legal, and external vendors to ensure timely and compliant completion of background verification activities.

Beyond operational case management, you will contribute to process excellence initiatives, participate in projects, support digital and AI-enabled ways of working, and act as a trusted advisor for background verification-related inquiries and complex cases. You will work in a highly collaborative global environment and have the opportunity to drive meaningful improvements that enhance both stakeholder experience and operational effectiveness.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Initiate and manage pre-employment background verification checks in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, assess, and evaluate background verification results, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, partnering with candidates, hiring managers, HR, Legal, and external vendors as required.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Take ownership of assigned process activities and support designated process topics under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Identify potential process improvement opportunities and contribute ideas to enhance operational effectiveness and stakeholder experience.
  • Participate in team initiatives, testing activities, and operational improvement efforts as required.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of AI-enabled tools and digital technologies to improve productivity and quality of work.
  • Navigate and utilize various systems and platforms, including SAP applications, vendor portals, reporting tools, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Work effectively within a global and virtual team environment while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience, knowledge, or strong interest in Background Verification, Recruiting Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Experience working within a customer-focused, service delivery, shared services, or operational environment is an advantage.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures while adapting to changing business needs.
  • Exposure to HR systems, case management tools, reporting platforms, or other operational technologies is considered a plus.
  • Interest in developing digital skills and learning new technologies, including automation and AI-enabled tools.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Upper-intermediate written and spoken English language skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with candidates, employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and deliver quality results in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to learn, develop expertise, and build proficiency across background verification processes and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute ideas for process enhancement.
  • Digital literacy and openness to learning new technologies, automation solutions, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Collaborative team player who contributes to knowledge sharing and supports team objectives within a global environment.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Tailored onboarding with comprehensive training to support independent and professional performance.
  • Diverse and inclusive work environment with extensive learning and development opportunities.
  • Exposure to a global network of colleagues, stakeholders, and business functions.
  • Opportunities to build expertise in Background Verification, Recruiting Operations, and HR processes.
