Environmental sustainability is a core priority at SAP, and SAP helps set industry standards.
As sustainability regulations evolve, SAP must continuously adapt. This role in the Data Center & Infrastructure team supports sustainability management, reporting, and footprint reduction across SAP’s cloud infrastructure.
The Role
The role supports day-to-day IT asset disposition (ITAD) and hardware remarketing for data center equipment in Global Cloud Operations (GCO), strengthening compliance, transparency, data quality, documentation, and reporting across reuse, remarketing, and recycling.
As associate analyst for environmental sustainability for SAP´s cloud data center infrastructure lifecycle services, your tasks are the following:
- Support end-to-end ITAD/remarketing (logistics, reuse/recycling, revenue settlement, waste reporting) in line with ITAM and Data Center Lifecycle guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Data Center Ops, Finance, Sustainability) and external ITAD providers.
- Validate ITAD documentation (chain of custody, data sanitization evidence, recycling certificates).
- Report on status, volumes, revenues, and exceptions for stakeholders and management (e.g., QBR).
- Help to measure and to reduce the environmental footprint of data center hardware through initiatives and projects.
- Track relevant regulations, assess impact on cloud operations, and support ongoing compliance.
- Partner with suppliers and external institutions to analyze data and drive improvements in environmental performance.
- Support adoption of SAP sustainability solutions for internal use.
What you bring
- Interest/experience in ITAD, DC operations support, IT services, asset management, or hardware logistics.
- Interest/initial experience in data-center sustainability and circularity requirements.
- Able to connect technical, business, and regulatory requirements in a data center context.
- Strong communication and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working in global, distributed teams (preferred).
- Curious, creative, and able to learn quickly in cloud/data center environments.
- English skills.
