Join us as a Android Mobile Software Developer supporting the SAP Concur platform, working hybrid in Sao Leopoldo. You will design, build, and scale the mobile experiences that millions of business travelers rely on every day — from expense capture and receipt scanning to real-time travel alerts and push notifications.

What You Will Build — and Why It Matters

You will be a hands-on engineer and technical leader delivering Android-first experiences at global scale. Core areas of ownership include:

  • Native Android features for the SAP Concur and Complete mobile apps, serving millions of users across iOS and Android.

  • Mobile push notification and in-app messaging services, enabling real-time, personalized engagement for traveler and expense workflows.

  • Offline-capable data-sync pipelines, ensuring the app works reliably in low-connectivity environments common in global travel.

  • Performance and reliability improvements — reducing cold-start times, improving ANR/crash rates, and enhancing observability through Dynatrace and custom telemetry.

  • Reusable Android SDKs and libraries that internal teams across SAP Concur can adopt to accelerate feature delivery.

  • CI/CD pipeline enhancements for the Android build and release lifecycle, integrating with GitHub Actions and Google Play internal testing tracks.

  • Accessibility and internationalization compliance, ensuring the app meets WCAG standards and works seamlessly across dozens of locales.

What You Bring

Core Android Engineering

  • Kotlin as your primary language — fluent in coroutines, Flow, extension functions, and idiomatic Kotlin patterns.

  • Jetpack Compose for declarative UI development, including custom composables, theming, animation, and navigation with Compose Navigation.

  • Experience with Jetpack Architecture Components: ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, WorkManager, Paging 3, and DataStore.

  • Understanding of MVVM and MVI architectural patterns, clean architecture principles, and multi-module app organisation.

  • Dependency injection with Dagger/Hilt.

  • Gradle build system— multi-module builds, custom plugins, build variants, ProGuard/R8 configuration, and dependency management.

  • RESTful API and GraphQL integration using Retrofit, OkHttp, and Apollo; experience with gRPC on mobile is a plus.

  • Android SDK familiarity: Notifications (FCM push), Camera2/CameraX, Bluetooth/NFC, Biometrics, and Work Profile / MDM considerations for enterprise apps.

Quality & Testing

  • Test-driven mindset with hands-on experience writing unit tests (JUnit 5, Mockito/MockK), integration tests, and UI tests (Espresso, Compose UI Test).

  • Familiarity with screenshot testing (Paparazzi or similar) and automated performance benchmarking (Macrobenchmark, Baseline Profiles).

  • Familiarity with Android Studio Profiler, Systrace, and/or Firebase Performance Monitoring for diagnosing UI jank, memory leaks, and excessive battery consumption.

Platform, Cloud & DevOps

  • Experience with CI/CD toolchains relevant to Android — GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Fastlane — including automated signing, Play Store deployment, and staged rollouts.

  • An understanding of AWS services used in mobile backends.

  • Comfort working in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) when contributing to backend services that power mobile APIs.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Fluent English for collaborating with global, multi-regional teams across the Americas, EMEA, and APJ.

  • Comfortable working within cross-functional squads alongside product managers, UX designers, QA engineers, and backend developers.

  • Proactive communication style — comfortable raising technical risks early and articulating trade-offs to both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Hands-on experience using modern AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate development and code review cycles is a plus.

  • Background in travel, expense management, or financial technology (fintech) domains is advantageous.

  • Awareness of SAP BTP or SAP Cloud Platform mobile services is a plus.
