Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What You'll Build

Join our mission to revolutionize enterprise data transformation through intelligent analytics and AI-driven insights. As an AI Data Scientist, you'll be at the forefront of building the analytical foundation for our Data Management platform - a unified solution that helps enterprises transition from legacy systems to modern cloud landscapes with clean, consistent, and migration-ready data. Your work will directly impact how thousands of organizations worldwide prepare for their cloud transformations, turning complex data quality challenges into clear, actionable strategies.

You'll analyze data from enterprise business systems - particularly SAP ERP environments preparing for S/4HANA Cloud migration - identifying patterns in data quality issues, inconsistencies across applications, and opportunities for intelligent automation. Working with large-scale enterprise datasets, you'll develop analytical frameworks to assess data health through KPIs, build predictive models to forecast remediation effort and impact, and create insights that guide customers toward the right data quality measures. Your analysis will shape how we detect errors, prioritize remediation actions, and recommend strategies for data archiving, tiering, and optimization before migration begins.

This role sits at the intersection of data science, AI innovation, and enterprise transformation. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to develop AI agents that continuously refine error detection and guidance quality, work with product managers to translate analytical findings into platform features, and partner with architects to ensure our intelligent automation scales across diverse customer landscapes. Whether you're analyzing KPI effectiveness, evaluating AI-driven prioritization algorithms, measuring the impact of automated remediation actions, or exploring new applications of generative AI in data quality assessment, your insights will directly influence how we turn data preparation from a reactive cleanup activity into a proactive, system-driven process. You'll be working at the cutting edge of AI in enterprise software, where your analytical work enables customers to reduce data preparation effort by 25% and project duration by 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex data from enterprise business systems to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive product and strategic decisions
  • Design and implement analytical methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of data management strategies and AI-powered features
  • Develop statistical analyses to forecast trends, optimize processes, and improve decision-making across the data management domain
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI agents and machine learning capabilities into production applications, ensuring data-driven feature development
  • Create compelling data visualizations and reports that communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with international team members to establish best practices for data analysis, experimentation design, and performance measurement
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover new opportunities for AI applications and intelligent automation in enterprise data management
  • Evaluate and recommend data science tools, libraries, and platforms that enhance the team's analytical capabilities

What You Bring

Required

  • 2+ years of professional experience in data science, data analysis, or related analytical roles with demonstrable impact on business outcomes
  • Strong proficiency in Python with extensive experience using data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn)
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design methodologies
  • Experience in analyzing data from business systems and databases, with strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
  • Proven ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex analytical challenges
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in collaborative, agile environments with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI agents, intelligent automation, agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph), and their enterprise applications
  • Practical experience with generative AI techniques, large language models (LLMs), and prompt engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, tune, and deploy machine learning models for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, etc
  • Prior experience working with data platforms and collaborative environments such as Databricks and DataSphere
  • Understanding of data engineering principles, including building ETL pipelines, data modeling, and implementing data quality frameworks
  • Experience in cloud platforms and cloud-based data analytics tools

Where You Belong

You'll join an international, diverse team of data professionals, engineers, and product experts who are passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation. Our team culture emphasizes curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning - we believe the best insights come from asking the right questions and exploring data from multiple perspectives.

We operate in a flexible, hybrid environment that supports work-life balance while fostering strong team connections. Whether you're collaborating with teammates across different time zones, diving deep into complex datasets, or presenting findings to stakeholders, you'll find a supportive atmosphere that values both analytical rigor and creative problem-solving.
