Job Title: Manufacturing Service Metal worker

Working Pattern: Onsite Days and Links

Working location: Bristol

You will perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive pipework and fabrication tasks across a broad range of production & experimental equipment across a plant, site or business, ensuring that all assets are safe, available and capable for use when required. Coordinate workload and fabrication activities with customers, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, Engineers and other colleagues

What you will be doing:

  • Use engineering drawings & technical documentation to inform and implement the most effective approach towards sheet metal & pipework fabrications
  • Identify, recommend and implement improvements to pipework & sheet metal fabrication procedures. Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the maintenance strategy.
  • Work alongside/support equipment OEM and Development engineers as required
  • Consistently support asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to ensure maximum asset availability.

  • You will hold a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering/maintenance/fabrication with a focus on hands-on Sheet Metal work, Pipe Fabrication or Pipe Fitting type work.
  • You must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of mechanical equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings & fault find mechanical systems and work with other trades to solve problems.
  • Understanding and using computer-based maintenance and procurement systems.
  • You will have a professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • You will be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
