Position summary:

Designing world-leading power systems is one thing. Seeing them through to fruition is something else entirely, and that’s where our Manufacturing Engineering team comes in. Join our team and you’ll have a vital role to play in delivering our customer promises and achieving the most rigorous standards. Life in this team is about continually developing processes, acquiring capabilities and exploiting technologies that will keep us at the forefront of global manufacturing. Drawing on your practical mindset and relentlessly inquisitive nature, you’ll help to transform ideas into physical products and our significant order book into profitable reality.

Our Manufacturing Engineer role will prepare you for a career like no other and you can expect to gain an end-to-end knowledge of manufacturing engineering. That knowledge will be gained as you work on live projects for three, multi-month placements within our teams who introduce new products, develop and implement new technology and focus on continuously improving products and processes, either within our manufacturing plants or our external supply chain.

Our goal is to provide experiences that provide a breadth of exposure to the many facets of manufacturing engineering and internal networks from shop floor to management or our external supply chain to help you navigate exciting and purposeful career opportunities. Through coaching, mentoring and training with both our best technical and business leaders, you will develop the necessary technical and behavioral skills to leverage a toolbox of experiences, skills and leadership for success and growth.

More than 18,000 people work in manufacturing worldwide making it the largest function within Rolls-Royce.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborating with talented professionals in a fast-paced, high-tech environment that emphasizes teamwork

  • Taking on real responsibility by introducing major equipment, improving manufacturing systems, or addressing continuity risks

  • Supporting manufacturing launch plans by integrating activities and helping suppliers adopt more efficient methods and new material specifications

  • Gaining experience working directly on Rolls-Royce manufacturing sites and/or with external supply chain teams supporting component delivery

  • Tackling complex and rewarding challenges that provide a strong foundation for your career

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking

  • Demonstrate how to identify a problem and scope a task

  • Understanding of lean principles (5S, visual management and continuous improvement process)

  • Demonstrate written and oral communication to a variety of audiences (e.g., shop floor, technical experts, and management)

  • Demonstrate presentation skills both orally as well as visual management

Our behaviors drive us - we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. We’ll expect that of you, too.

What we offer:

Meaningful work from day one, with the support to help you succeed

A culture that invests in your personal and professional development

The chance to grow your skills while working on real projects in a global company

Join us and help create the technologies that will shape tomorrow. If you're ready to learn, grow and make a lasting difference from day one, we'd love to hear from you.
