Position Summary

HR Advisor serves as the primary on-site HR contact in Malaysia, delivering trusted advice to line managers while ensuring compliance with local labor laws, audits, and policy guidelines. Coordinates end-to-end HR process execution, onboarding, and local change initiatives in close alignment with regional People Partners, COE, and GBS teams. Manages employee relations, workplace engagement, and continuous improvement projects within a dynamic matrix environment.


What you will be doing:

HR Business Advisory & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide on-the-ground HR advice and support to line managers and employees, especially on matters that require local business context or face-to-face engagement.

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries not addressed by GBS, escalating or redirecting where necessary.

  • Guide line managers to ensure adherence to HR policies, local employment regulations, and global processes.

  • Ensure smooth onboarding experience for new hires at the site.

Local HR Process Deployment

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of key HR processes and annual cycles

  • Work closely with People Partners, COE teams, and GBS team to enable seamless HR service delivery

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Raise and manage employee concerns, support engagement initiatives and act as a voice for employee advocacy

  • Partner with the ER team as needed to ensure fair resolution of issues and effective workplace practices.

  • Facilitate information and consultation processes and promote a positive work environment.

HR Projects & Change Management

  • Support local execution of HR-related change management initiatives such as organizational design, restructuring, and site-based HR transformation.

  • Identify service gaps and propose enhancements aligned with the People strategy.

  • Drive or support local HR projects that are aligned to business priorities.

HR Audit & Compliance

  • Support internal and external HR audits.

  • Ensure HR processes meet regulatory, policy, and compliance standards.

  • Monitor changes in Malaysian employment requirements and communicate potential implications to HR team.

  • Coordinate updates to local policies, employment documents and HR processes when required.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of progressive HR generalist or advisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of Malaysia employment legislation, industrial relations practices and HR practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR operations, audits, and provide strategic day-to-day HR support.

  • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, engineering or plant environment is a strong advantage.

  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization, supporting multiple stakeholders across global and regional HR teams.

  • Comfortable with business trips.
