Job Description

Job Description

Job Title: Wiring Technician
Working Pattern: Full-time onsite
Working Location: Winsford

We’re seeking a skilled Wiring Technician / Panel Builder to join our Electrical Assembly team, where you will be responsible for building, wiring, and installing electrical distribution panels and switchboards to the highest safety and quality standards. Working from schematics and diagrams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems are connected reliably and safely for marine and industrial applications.

Why Rolls-Royce?

Rolls-Royce is one of the most enduring and iconic brands in the world and has been at the forefront of innovation for over a century. We design, build and service systems that provide critical power to customers where safety and reliability are paramount.

We are proud to be a force for progress, powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere. We want to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that has shaped our history continues into our future and we need people like you to come and join us on this journey.

This role sits within our Marine and Industrial electrical systems teams, supporting the build and installation of complex, high-specification distribution panels for mission-critical systems.

We’ll provide an environment of caring and belonging where you can be yourself. An inclusive, innovative culture that invests in you, gives you access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities where you can grow your career and make a difference.

You’ll be part of a dedicated team working on products that meet exacting customer requirements, contributing to real-world performance and safety through your technical craftsmanship.

What We Offer

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are.

What You Will Be Doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Assemble electrical control panels and switchboards using electrical schematics and build instructions.
  • Install components, copper bus-bars, power and control wiring in accordance with 17th/18th Edition IEE regulations.
  • Perform fault diagnosis, electrical testing, and repairs to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Use calibrated tooling, torque wrenches, and crimp tools to carry out high-precision, low-voltage electrical builds.

Who We’re Looking For

At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form the behaviours that guide us and are an essential component of our assessment process. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Be qualified to at least Level 2 in electrical fitting, ideally through a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Have previous experience in LV switchboard or panel assembly within an industrial or marine environment.
  • Be able to read and work from electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Demonstrate strong manual skills, attention to detail, and electrical safety awareness.
  • Hold (or be working toward) 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations certification. IPC or testing certifications are desirable.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive.

Closing date - 24/08/26

As part of our selection process, candidates in certain locations may be asked to complete an online assessment, which can include cognitive and behavioural aptitude testing relevant to the role. If required, full instructions for the next steps will be provided.
