Duration: Summer (12 weeks)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana - Onsite

Role Overview:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you’ll apply your engineering skills to real-world challenges supporting the technology, processes and products that power the future of aerospace. You’ll help develop and improve manufacturing processes across production, assembly, repair and our external supply chain with a focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Across our aerospace and marine manufacturing businesses we focus on four core areas to help us deliver a capable and reliable method of production: manufacturing technology, product introduction, technical governance and change management, and continuous improvement and manufacturability. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals to solve challenges, improve processes and support the delivery of products that meet customer and business needs.

With more than 18,000 people in manufacturing worldwide, you’ll be part of the largest function within Rolls-Royce.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Applying manufacturing engineering principles to real-world assignments in core areas like on-site manufacturing or external supply chain management

  • Working under an experienced manufacturing engineer who will guide your work, provide mentorship and support your professional development

  • Contributing to meaningful projects that solution real business needs that directly impact our products and customers

  • Building hands-on engineering experience through on-the-job training, varied daily assignments and collaboration with experienced professionals across Rolls-Royce

Who we’re looking for:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, and/or related degree

  • Understanding and experience with CAD but not required

  • Experience with drawing/blueprint interpretation but not required

  • Prior manufacturing internship/co-op but not required

  • A strong passion for the future of technology

  • A willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations: in most cases, you’ll be able to meet the requirements in the location you are recruited to, however, we may need you to be flexible and travel between sites during or for your internship n open-minded, curious, and agile approach to work and career development

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Work authorization eligibility: To be considered, you must also be a U.S. Citizen.
