Job Role: Operational Resilience Manager

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + 15% performance bonus

Working Location: Milton Keynes / London, Hybrid working

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Job summary:

Operational resilience is about more than responding to disruption, it's about ensuring customers, colleagues and critical business services continue to operate when it matters most.

As our Operational Resilience Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and embedding NHBC's operational resilience framework, helping the organisation prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption. Working closely with the CISO and senior stakeholders across the business, you'll ensure resilience is embedded into day-to-day operations, strategic change and decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence organisational resilience at an enterprise level, working across technology, operations and business functions to strengthen our ability to protect the services that matter most.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll lead the continued development and maturity of NHBC's operational resilience capability by:

  • Managing and continuously improving our operational resilience framework, ensuring it remains proportionate, effective and aligned with PRA, FCA and industry best practice.
  • Identifying, mapping and maintaining NHBC's important business services, including impact tolerances, critical dependencies and end-to-end service mapping.
  • Developing and embedding business continuity, crisis management and resilience processes across the organisation.
  • Working with service owners and business teams to identify operational risks, control weaknesses and vulnerabilities, driving pragmatic improvements and first-line ownership.
  • Leading resilience testing, scenario exercises and lessons learned activities to strengthen organisational preparedness and recovery.
  • Supporting the response to significant operational disruptions and ensuring continuous improvement following incidents.
  • Providing assurance over supplier and outsourcing resilience, including critical third parties, in line with regulatory expectations and exit planning requirements.
  • Embedding resilience requirements into business operations, technology change, projects and service delivery.
  • Producing meaningful resilience metrics, management information and reporting to support governance, audit and regulatory assurance.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor, translating complex regulatory expectations into practical, business-focused resilience outcomes.

What We're Looking For

You'll have experience in operational resilience, business continuity, risk or control within a regulated environment. people management and enjoy working collaboratively to improve organisational resilience.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience implementing or enhancing operational resilience, business continuity or risk management frameworks.
  • A strong understanding of operational resilience principles, including important business services, impact tolerances, dependency mapping and scenario testing.
  • Knowledge of business continuity, crisis management, incident response and recovery planning.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 22301, PRA/FCA operational resilience requirements and the ability to apply regulatory expectations pragmatically.
  • Experience producing clear resilience reporting, risk analysis and management information for senior leaders and governance forums.
  • The ability to analyse risks across people, process, technology and third-party suppliers, identifying practical improvements that strengthen resilience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business and technology teams.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to translate complex resilience concepts into clear business outcomes.
