Job Description
Data Consultant
- A pivotal role within the Pricing Data team
- Join NFU Mutual at a critical time and have true impact on the business
- Hybrid vacancy: work 1 day from the office in Stratford-Upon-Avon, and 4 days from home
About the role
We’re currently seeking a Data Engineer to support the Pricing team. This role has come about because of an internal move, resulting in a vacancy within our Data Assets team. This team support how the Pricing function review and utilise data to ensure that we remain fair and competitive to our customers.
This role sits within our Data Assets team, where you’ll play a key part in creating, maintaining and developing the data assets that underpin both Pricing and wider business decision making. Working with raw data from multiple internal systems, you’ll transform it into high quality, reliable datasets that our Pricing, Underwriting and Data teams can use with confidence.
You’ll help us meet our ambitions to maintain existing assets, deliver new solutions across the business, and provide specialist data expertise to support underwriting, regulatory reporting and regular business reporting. As part of this, you’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and work end-to-end across a range of data activities including ETL, pipeline creation and data integration from diverse, raw sources.
You’ll lead and develop two team members, supporting their continued upskilling as the team transitions into more modern, agile ways of working. With an Azure-based environment already in place, you’ll bring the technical capability to pick up, maintain and evolve our cloud-based data tools and workflows.
This is a role with plenty of challenge and opportunity. Planning is a major focus; keeping a strategic and commercial focus by engaging proactively with stakeholders, and anticipating what’s needed ahead of key changes, including upcoming policy administration system developments. You’ll bring strategic thinking, strong prioritisation and the ability to guide conversations that ensure data needs are understood early.
As for the future, several career paths are open: you could deepen your expertise as a technical specialist or grow further into people leadership. Whichever direction you take, this role gives exposure to a wide range of datasets, tools and analytical challenges that build strong foundations for long-term progression.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
This role is known internally as “Data Consultant”.

You’re an experience data professional, bringing with you a strong foundation in working with data, along with the curiosity and drive to turn complex information into meaningful insight. You’re confident using modern data tools and comfortable working with others to deliver clear, accurate outputs that support good decision making.
To join us you'll have the following skills:
- You have hands on experience using SQL and Excel, along with a solid understanding of Azure and how data flows through systems (Essential)
