
Job Description
Mott MacDonald is looking for a full time Project Coordinator to be fully onsite at our client's office in Washington DC. This position supports the client Director and department by coordinating cross-functional initiatives, advancing progress on strategic priorities and ensuring departmental deliverables are managed and delivered effectively.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
The major duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator shall be as follows:
- Support business initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of the Director
- Strengthen executive decision-making through research, analysis, and writing to present issues, business opportunities and Strategic Plan reporting
- Improve organizational coordination and communication across teams, departments, and stakeholders
- Manage delivery of business cases to support best practice adoption by the agency
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives and ensure milestones are met
- Support the Director on internal operations, strategic planning, and stakeholder management
- Make suggestions to improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity
- Support strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and manage delivery of project plans, performance metrics, and dashboards to track progress
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy, program, and operational decisions
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies across initiatives
- Prepare and support development of briefing materials, talking points, presentations, and decision memos
- Serve as a sounding board for ideas, organizational challenges, and long-term planning
- The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Director. Works closely and coordinates with all senior staff, external partners, and senior advisors. This role may support the work of program managers, analysts, coordinators, and administrative staff on an as needed basis.
Candidate Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field
- At least 4-5 years of experience in business support role, some transportation/government exposure preferred
- An action-oriented professional who will take a proactive approach to support the Director focus on engagement, innovation and progress in a matrix environment
- Ability to be flexible and handle multiple workflows simultaneously
- Experience in organizing and working in teams and across departments to support timely, coordinated project delivery and foster ongoing partnerships and trust
- Ability to create/draft presentations and present complex data to technical and non technical audiences
- Experience in budget planning, tracking, and management
- Proven success in a project coordination role
- Strong project-reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
