Your Opportunity

Mott MacDonald's Project, Program, and Commercial Management team has an exciting opportunity for a Program Director. You will provide executive leadership across a major multidisciplinary infrastructure delivery program spanning transportation and civil infrastructure and related specialist services.

You will hold overall accountability for program strategy, governance, commercial performance, risk and delivery. Working with senior Government stakeholders, Project Principals, program managers, technical leaders and delivery partners, you will set direction, enable executive decision-making and drive delivery.

• Lead senior client relationships and represent Mott MacDonald in executive, steering committee and governance forums.

• Maintain oversight of program governance, scope, schedule, cost, risk, dependencies, change, benefits, quality and assurance.

• Shape integrated delivery, workforce and succession strategies to provide the capability and capacity required through delivery

• Oversee design-phase activities, including final design review, design coordination, constructability reviews, and risk management.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across engineering, construction, environmental, commercial, and project controls functions.

• Manage program risks, budgets, schedules, governance, and performance reporting.

• Build and maintain relationships with public agencies, regulatory bodies, utilities, community stakeholders, and tribal representatives.

• Drive issue resolution, stakeholder alignment, and informed decision-making throughout project delivery.

• Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, business or a related discipline, with recognised professional accreditation desirable.

• Extensive experience directing complex, high-value projects or programs in infrastructure, engineering, construction or another highly regulated environment.

• Demonstrated executive accountability for program strategy, governance, delivery, commercial performance, risk, benefits and client outcomes.

• Proven success leading program managers, project directors and multidisciplinary teams across multiple concurrent workstreams.

• Strong commercial judgement, with experience managing complex contracts, major risks, change and portfolio financial performance.

• Established capability in executive stakeholder engagement, with the credibility to influence senior clients, delivery partners and governance bodies.

• Experience shaping program operating models, integrated plans, resource strategies and executive reporting frameworks.

• A visible and inclusive leadership style that builds high-performing teams and maintains a strong commitment to health and safety, quality and professional excellence.
