Role Purpose

The Digital Integration & Geospatial Specialist supports the deployment, integration and adoption of geospatial solutions across infrastructure and engineering projects. Reporting to the Regional Knowledge and Information Manager, this person connects geospatial platforms with project delivery systems, enables practical digital workflows and helps information flow consistently across project environments. The role will work closely with the project teams and digital solutions team to deliver integrated and reusable solutions across projects.

The ideal candidate combines strong GIS capability with practical automation, integration and project-facing delivery skills. Data engineering knowledge is helpful but is not the primary focus of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Geospatial Platforms: Administer and support Moata geospatial and land management solutions, including ArcGIS; configure solutions, maintain maps and geospatial data, provide technical guidance to project teams, and contribute to enhancing capability in Mott MacDonald’s Moata platforms as required.

• Developing Automation and Integrations: Use FME, Python, APIs and configured workflows to automate the movement and transformation of geospatial and project information between GIS platforms, Common Data Environments, project systems and reporting platforms.

• Connecting Project Information: Contribute to connected information and digital-thread workflows by linking geospatial, document, project and asset information and establishing consistent information flows across systems.

• Supporting Project Delivery: Work directly with project teams to understand project needs, configure practical solutions and support delivery from initial setup through testing, adoption and ongoing operation; provide troubleshooting, user guidance and ongoing support.

• Building Capability: Develop user documentation, training materials, reusable workflows, templates and integration patterns and contribute to demonstrations and pilots.

• Driving Continuous Improvement: Identify practical opportunities to improve project outcomes through geospatial technology, spatial analytics, automation and connected information.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications in GIS, FME, automation or digital delivery are a plus.

Experience and Skills

Required:

• 5 to 8 years of experience delivering geospatial, digital integration or automation solutions.

• Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.

• Experience managing geospatial data, developing maps and performing spatial analysis.

• Practical experience developing FME workflows.

• Experience using Python to automate geospatial or project-information processes.

• Working experience using SQL to query, validate and support the movement of data between geospatial and project information systems. Advanced database engineering experience is not required.

• Experience supporting integrations between GIS platforms and Common Data Environments or document management systems.

• Experience supporting the configuration, testing, deployment and adoption of digital solutions on multidisciplinary projects.

• Ability to engage directly with project teams and translate project information requirements into practical solutions.

• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation, user guidance and training materials.

Preferred:

• Experience with Moata solutions like Moata Geospatial or Moata Land Management.

• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise or SharePoint.

• Familiarity with APIs and system-to-system integrations.

• Experience with Power BI, digital twins, asset-management systems or connected project environments.

• Working knowledge of data-integration principles and experience collaborating with data engineers.
• Experience in architecture, engineering, construction or major infrastructure delivery.

This position is located in Houston, TX. You must be able to reliably commute to our office in this location, per our hybrid working policy.
