Job Description

Mott MacDonald is looking for a Project Delivery Leader to help improve how complex infrastructure projects are planned, coordinated, and delivered across Southern California and North America. Based in Los Angeles, you will work with project leaders, technical specialists, and clients to drive better outcomes through digital delivery, information management, BIM, GIS, data analytics, and automation.

Our Digital Delivery team combines expertise in CAD, BIM, GIS, data analytics, information management, and project delivery to support major infrastructure programs. We are growing across North America and are looking for leaders who want to help shape the future of digital project delivery. This is an opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, progressing from managing digital delivery to leading its direction, people, and impact on society.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with project leaders, discipline leads, clients, and delivery teams to translate project challenges into practical digital delivery solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary digital delivery teams, including BIM, CAD, GIS, information management, document control, data analytics, and IT specialists.
  • Establish and embed efficient, repeatable delivery processes that improve collaboration, reduce rework, support decision-making, and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Support major pursuits and proposals by developing client-focused digital delivery strategies aligned with project requirements and business objectives.
  • Work closely with project managers to integrate digital delivery into project planning, governance, risk management, and day-to-day execution.
  • Provide structure to complex challenges through clear planning, prioritization, problem-solving, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Share lessons learned, mentor emerging digital delivery leaders, and help grow capability across the Los Angeles and North America teams.

Team leadership responsibilities

  • You will also contribute to the leadership of the Digital Services team by:
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project performance through digital delivery and supporting strategic initiatives across the business.
  • Supporting recruitment, mentoring, and development of digital delivery and project delivery professionals.
  • Developing and promoting consistent delivery methods, playbooks, templates, and best practices across the North American Digital Delivery Network.
  • Providing technical guidance, peer review, and problem-solving support to project teams.
  • Helping foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

Candidate Specification

  • We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate many of the following qualifications, experiences, and behaviors:
  • 15+ years of experience in project delivery, project management, design management, digital delivery, infrastructure delivery, or a related engineering environment.
  • Experience delivering complex projects requiring strong coordination, stakeholder management, information flow, planning, and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, senior leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle delivery, including planning, governance, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of digital delivery tools and approaches, including BIM, GIS, information management, automation, data analytics, and connected delivery platforms.
  • Ability to translate project delivery requirements into practical digital solutions.
  • Experience driving process improvement, mentoring teams, and implementing consistent delivery practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities in complex environments.
  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous learning and inclusive teamwork.
  • Comfortable working in hybrid, remote, and multidisciplinary environments.

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful but is not required:

  • BIM, VDC, GIS, information management, document control, data analytics, project management, or project controls.
  • Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Bentley ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • BIM and information management standards, including NBIMS, BIMForum LOD, COBie, IFC, OmniClass, MasterFormat, and UniFormat.
  • Transportation, rail, transit, aviation, water, energy, resilience, or other major infrastructure projects.
  • Client-facing project delivery, proposal development, project mobilization, or major project setup.
  • Experience working in Southern California or other large, complex infrastructure markets.

Our teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference to the world that we live in. If you share that vision and don’t have all the experience outlined in this posting, we still want to hear from you! Let’s discuss how we can help you take the next step in your career and how you can participate in an exciting new chapter for Mott MacDonald in North America.
