About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and​ advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

About the role
This role is responsible for the delivery of aviation advisory projects that drive operational excellence and strategic transformation, aligning project and business goals and objectives. You will be working on projects for governments, authorities, operators, equity investors and lenders in all types of airport infrastructure development projects and transactions across the world. You will be part of one of the world’s leading and multicultural aviation consultancies in the world, with 40+ years of presence in the industry, and a portfolio of 1,000+ aviation projects in 120+ countries. As a role model, you will focus on accountability, team ethos and technical excellence, and play a key role in delivering and contributing to the team’s business plan and future direction. You will take a key role in managing and/or preparing bids/tenders and will successfully manage work packages and projects and oversee their performance.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve the following:

  • Responsible for the delivery of aviation advisory projects that drive operational excellence and strategic transformation.
  • Align project and business goals and objectives.
  • Work on projects for governments, authorities, operators, equity investors, and lenders in airport infrastructure development projects and transactions worldwide.
  • Responsible for leading and managing complex projects and manage and supervise team(s), potentially across continents and time zones.
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure reports and analysis are technically competent and quality checked.
  • Ensure that reports and analysis are technically competent, quality checked, clear and rational.
  • Understand and keep pace with aviation industry guidance and best practices.
  • Manage various project responsibilities to meet deadlines and other project delivery commitments.
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
  • Contribute to successful bids/tenders for work.

Candidate specification
We are looking for a committed and confident person with relevant aviation or rail/other transportation industry technical experience in the field of operations planning and optimisation, strategic advisory and transformation.

You have experience in leading complex operational initiatives on a global context and managing the requirements and concerns of multiple key stakeholders. You have proven experience in working closely with colleagues and subconsultants across different disciplines, as well as in client engagement across all levels including senior management and c-level executives. You also have experience in line management and mentoring, potentially some experience in business development / bid management to support growth in an exciting team, and have previous experience in a similar role.

Essential criteria:

  • Relevant aviation or rail/other transportation industry technical experience in operations planning and optimization, strategic advisory, and transformation.
  • Experience in leading complex operational initiatives on a global context and managing multiple key stakeholders.
  • Experience in line management, mentoring, and business development/bid management.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge or interest in Aviation.
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving and can-do attitude.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project work.

Desirable criteria:

  • Operations management role at an airport or rail/other transportation environment.
  • Subject matter expert in the field of operational planning and optimisation or customer experience.
  • Experience in the field of operational readiness and transfer.
  • Experience in representing their organisation at industry forums, conferences, and events, promoting the company brand and reputation.
  • MBA or other advanced degree or recognised professional qualification.
